Why does the sun look like this? How do I fix it?

Hello! My question is that the sun always looks like a flat line in every zone, under all weather conditions and everything. What settings in FFXI cause the sun to become a flat line like this? How do I fix it?

Everything else about the game is fine, but I have no idea what settings I can change to correct it. Could it be in game settings like Misc1-4 or maybe something in FFXIConfig.exe? Thanks.

Didn't anyone ever recommend /not/ staring at the sun? :]

Anyblue, it looks more or less as it is supposed to... probably.

Mine does seem to have a bit more "thick" rays covering it, but not sure if it is due to the graphics quality settings or not.
