Signatures

I've been on many forums and understand the rules to Signatures etc. Text works, but when trying to place a link for a pic...I can't get my signature to work for the life of me, any help with this please?

p.s. sorry if I posted in the wrong area...please move if so.

Links simply don't work, not just image links, other links as well. It's why the names in my signature aren't clickable. Don't know for what reason though.

[img ][/img] codes do work. How do you think I put this here? \/

What I want to know is why they put so much whitespace ABOVE the signature line.
