Issue with Chat Filters

Steps:
Returned today:
1. Wish to turn /yell off (for obvious reasons) Config > Chat Filters
2. Turn ON filters for /yell, /shout etc.

The filter does not function, the chat still continues down the screen.
The fix is to zone out, and then back in to the town. This is not how I remember it working before, and isn't practical.
