Did You Feel That?

Someone else created a thread about this one a few weeks back... (I would have replied to his/her thread, but it appears that I don't have permissions)

I can't seem to complete this quest. I park myself right next to Spinescent Protuberance with sneak/invis on and let myself get amnesia > 5 times with no message. I do this with gear off so that my magic defense is low. I've tried this multiple times... no message. I return to the NPC, and unsurprisingly since I didn't get the message, the quest doesn't complete. I've tried this both with the Spinescent Protuberance at H10 and L12. I've tried repeating this after zoning, logging in/out, and cycling the software... Nothing seems to help.

Any suggestions?

FYI... this quest was able to right itself after I tried again using the exact same strategy after ffxi software update....

Thanks for the note! I've been meaning to get a character I've not done this one on to try it out myself for a while now.

Perhaps a ninja fixed what ever was wrong with it.
