Error Code: POL-5439

I can't find a solution to this anywhere. Has anyone run into this before? Essentially, I get logged in on POL and it tells me to enter a new handle. I do and I get that error code. I've tried different handles. I've reset my network. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I'm going crazy here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Additional details, the dialogue box says "Friend List Communication Error" and under the error code it says "Networking problems have occurred. Please try again later."
