Abyssea BRD

Abyssea BRD should get better atma than what we have now. With the Atma available, I think Bard has been getting the short end of the stick as far as pulling weight.

For example:

Lets say a Warrior normally weighs 100 kilograms outside of abyssea when in a party.

Bard would normally add 10 kilograms to that warrior, making the warrior be a bigger impact by about 10%. Which is good.

But when you go inside abyssea and the warrior gets haste, double/triple attack atmas, STR atma and all these other things that are adding 100% boost in stats, the Bards 10 kilograms arent as noticed as before. You're basically stuck doing march x2 on everyone, and the mages dont even really need ballad.

If Bard could get atma geared more towards making a bard a bigger asset, such as being able to add 4 songs at once, or if bard could have songs separated by song type, kinda like RDM can do with buffs, debuffs, etc.

Other mage jobs can add protect, shell, haste, aquaveil, stoneskin, phalanx, regen, refresh, regain, emnity+, emnity-, weather effects, spikes... etc etc. So why can't bard put up Marches, Fire Carol II, Ballads, Mazurka, and other spells that are of different types up at the same time? I would understand limiting it to one of each type, but being limited to only 2 at once is crappy in abyssea due to the atma other jobs get.

Put on some DD atma/gear and start meleeing ya lazy bum.
ALso why do you have time to be complaining? You should have been constantly pulling if you weren't playing around with daggers in the first place.

Go brd/nin with 2 good daggers, melee like crazy and proc threnodies/ninjitsu for grellow !!. If you manage to get a seal/coin to drop you can put it in one of your 3 inventory spaces you have left! I hate pulling for XP parties on brd though, personally i get annoyed using allure when I don't have an SJ that uses MP. NMs is an entirely different matter as I don't care if I get links, run for a flux, pop a horde, flux out and hope you are playing with people intelligent enough to let the links despawn.

A. You shouldnt be using allure in the first place
B. you dont NEED /nin to pull.I pulled for parties from lv 10~75 pre abyssea without /nin and it wasn't hard to do at all so I don't see why anything thinks it's some monumentally difficult task. The op is even specifically complaining about having nothing to do when they COULD be having something to do easily.
C. 3 invo spaces left? Have you ever heard of a sachel? You can plop the coins/seals right in there.

well, i'm capped XP and MERITS, so, i dont XP anymore, i'm also capped skill, so, i dont XP anymore. I do LS events, gear / sea/ card farming, and brd goes in to melee, does double march, runs to mages, does double ballad (which isnt even needed) then you just kinda sit there and wait.

I use allure to allow me to gather groups of stuff, and that's with the bard AF3+1 feet and their +movement. Allure isn't necessary, but it does help with that as another means of not getting hit when I'm bringing 5-12 mobs to camp for a fell cleave party.

I know you don't need /nin to pull, but again, it's easier. Also, if I'm pulling I'm supposed to be too busy to back-up heal with the pace most parties seem to want. Popping Utsu Ni isn't that time consuming, not like getting songs off between pulls.

Sarcasm doesn't translate well. It was a comment on having 3 entire gear sets, 15 instruments and whatever other stuff someone is going to tell you you have to have. You can't gear swap in a macro from your satchel to your body, it has to be in active inventory. Honestly, bard is just a stupid pack-rat, and if you add in /nin (especially if you have to handle ninjitsu !! procs, too) the tools take space, too. When you add in the 231 Kindred Crests that will fall to you in an aby party space gets to be at a premium. HINT TO SE: MAKE THESE STORABLE OR DECLARE THEM USELESS SO WE CAN TOSS THEM.

If the whm has any refresh atma at all then you backup healing in the first place is worthless. Just because they're stupid doesn't mean you have to go along with it.

I have more gear sets, carry nin tools, only have 75 spaces on my brd mule and I have room. You're being silly. You're also carrying about 11 instruments too many but I'll give you some leeway and let minuet in for rngs so you have 10 completely worthless instruments in your main inventory right there. Your problem isnt with the inventory space. it's with you carrying useless junk.Toss those 10 useless instruments in the sachel and take em out during the random fights you might actually need them. It's not a case of sarcasm translating well as much it is a case of you keeping junk in your main inventory. if you have nearly 300 seals in your main inventory you should have tossed 200 of those seals into your sachel by now.

Allure is also + movement speed, that's why I use it pulling. It has proven itself useful on many occasions.

I suggested back-up healing because as bard I sub nin, dnc, whm or rdm, and I do use my sub-jobs when needed/available.

I was still being sarcastic again as to the inventory, although not much. I have instruments for almost every song class, and use +chr for the few I don't carry. I carry them because when I need them, I need them now, not after I shuffle them out of sack or satchel. I also have more than one job I actively play ( 4 90s and the pup I'm leveling) and they all have their gear on me, too. I have a great deal of r/ex gear for jobs that I will be leveling further that don't store with NPCs and I don't feel like reobtaining when I do level those jobs (if you even can). I keep food for the jobs, an X-bow and all of its ammo for my thief, as well as quivers, ninja tools and tool bags, a stack of each of the current beast jugs, several stacks of pet food, NM pops, a couple items for uncompleted quests (like Prommy maps), a few crafting mats, a stack of each crystal to do those crafts (when I need to cover downtime), seals/coins for uncompleted AF3, oils/powders for when I don't have access to S/I, a few meds and the like; while I could take an hour or so to mule all of this that can be transferred and consolidating drops I don't feel like taking time away from play. I do keep most of the materials for sandy-based crafts in Storage, but the rest I need available in rent-a-rooms or even in the field and it is stored with that in mind. I even have a few items just waiting on room to AH or a full stack to mule.

The crests ARE in satchel; the comment was an observation on the end-game drop rates on (apparently) useless objects that far exceed those on useless drops. In a fast-paced party I really don't have time to be continually checking the treasure pool and my inventory, so it has happenned that I was full and stuff was flooring simply because I was full. The same thing can happen when the prey drops items that don't stack (a wyvern party can fill me up in a hurry as an example).

Hopefully the adjustments to stacks and such do something to help with my inventory... even if it is only on Abyssea items.

It matters little how buffed the dd's are in abyssea or out, marches will still add a similar boost. If double marches make you attack X% faster, the melees having insane atmas and better gear now does not make that X% less valuable. If you really want to calculate it out, it actually improves the actual DPS bonus when you mean a static number and not a %. You don't hear people saying that with all these abyssea buffs that there isn't much point in stacking haste or casting the haste spell anymore... Basically you need to look at the math behind your claim.

you are talking about the ASA atma that give mov+, ambition which also gives refresh and fast cast
