Animator P II
I'd like to report that while using animators designed to keep specific automaton builds at a 'ranged' engagement, the automaton often does not move to a distance from the mob it is deployed upon. Namely while using the Spiritreaver head with Stormwaker body, the automaton will stay in melee range of targets leaving it open to interrupting skillchains.

Don't these only stop them moving, meaning you have to send them in from a Distance as if they're already in range they'll just stay put.

Not everyone understands simple mechanics.
The auto will still move into range to use it's tp, if it has tp and is out of range by the way.
