Artifact Reforging

The team would like to say a couple words about artifact reforging, a trending topic on this forum.

We recently resolved an issue with the artifact reforging quest given by Monisette in Port Jeuno.

The original prerequisites to receive this quest included progression up through the mission Garden of Antiquity in the Chains of Promathia storyline, but we had discovered that it was possible to undertake the quest under certain circumstances even if the prerequisites were not met.

As of this version update, players are no longer be able to reforge these items without meeting the proper requirements. If you find yourself unable to continue reforging your artifact equipment due to this change, please don't worry. You will be able to continue after completing the aforementioned mission.

Oh how about taking away the one a day reforge crap? It shouldn't take 5+ hrs to get a whole set reforged then another 5 to +1 it.

Still better than the old days when you had to wait an entire week to upgrade artifact armor

While reforging is on the table, any chance you can add reforged AF weapons? XD
Wouldn't have to be anywhere near BIS, just maybe on par w/ Oboro JSE as an alternative means for newer/returned players to get their first 119 weapons.

Edit: Perhaps adding an alternative route besides Vagary clears to Empyrean Armor reforging would also be possible? Vagary is not really something that is generally accessible to newer players/characters, and the mechanics are far from being friendly to smaller groups. Something along the lines of an Escha-Zi'tah clear seems reasonable, but I'm sure there are other routes that could be found. Darn near anything would be better than dealing with the randomness of Vagary boss pops.({feet} I'm looking at you here...)

Oh boy, make it on par or even better than oboro weapons. Good idea on the alternative rout Nyarlko, perhaps a Scaled-up-in-difficulty set of AF fights, where the player gets to re-experience the story that lays down the lore of the job they love.

They shouldn't be strictly "better" than Oboro JSE, that would make the JSE weapons undesirable. Basically, standard 119 stats with a few things that are highly job specific and either not available or excessively hard to find.. JA recast reductions, JT enhancements, actually used signature spell enhancements (no AM boosts on BLM please. -_-), etc. Maybe large chunks of acc/m.acc to help newbies reach the point where they can actually handle doing common 119+ stuff so they can get a chance to get the good stuff.

Not sure that adding new fights to upgrade old equipment is the best use of dev time tbh :x
I'm thinking that clearing Escha-Zi'tah T1-T3 should be enough of a challenge to be worthy of being an alternative, while also being something that a single party should be able to handle AND eliminating the randomness of Vagary boss pops. Reforges should be a stepping stone for players gearing up, not a stumbling block. To clarify as well, I am suggesting that a new route for unlocking Empyrean armor reforging should be added to the existing Vagary route as an alternative, not replacing it, so players would have the choice of which path to take based on availability of helpers.

New fights no, just the old ones with tiered up difficulty. They did it with the avatars easily enough, they are the same fights just more difficult.
