Mission 2-3 journey abround Sandoria line. Running Windy >Bastok, Unable to complete

I am currently leveling an alt character. I began the new Rhapsodies line and got to the mission "The Path Untraveled". I cannot complete this quest until I rank up. Seeings that you must be past shadow lord to finish the current Rhapsody content I planned to run straight through to rank 6.
In Sandorian mission 2-3 (Journey abroad, running Windurst to Bastok)
I spoke with npc Mourices, I then went to Kupipi in Heavens Tower where she gave me the KI Shield Offering. I then took the Shield Offering to Giddeus and killed the required yagudo NM twice to get the two parana shields.
I then spoke to the required yagudo npc and got the message "Offered up key item Shield Offering!"
The next step is to return to Mourices and trade him one of the parana shields to get a cutscene. I have returned to him and he will not accept the shield. I revisited all the previous npcs to see if I missed dialouge and returned to Mourices again still unable to complete.
I decided to see if I could continue on with the Bastok part and I am unable to proceed. I am wondering if this is a conflict with the Rhapsodies quest that will not allow me to venture further.
I have googled this, as well as read over sources like wiki. I do not see anyone having the same issue and in talking to my LS they all reviewed wiki also.
