Uragnite and Sea Monk not evolving

Steps:
Well basically, I have been doing monster rearing on 2 characters raising them in the exact same way, poke the sea monk and feed it a Denizanasi and yell youdly at the uragnite and feed it a Three-Eyed Fish.

On Taidis the Uragnite and Sea Monk both evolved to adult form and I have the Sea monk larva memento and the uragnite youngling memento but despite being fed repeatedly the previously mentioned food and always getting the "Blah blah squirms uncontrollably" message, no evolution occurs.

On Myamoomoo the other character, everything has been done the same way and the sea monk larva and uragnite youngling KIs were obtained but unlike on Taidis, both monsters evolved to a blue sea monk and Limascabra respectively, with the blue sea monk memento KI actually being received already.

Does the time taken for evolution to occur vary or is there something odd going on? For the record, all monsters are being raised with the personal growth parenting style.

EDIT: 17/03/15 - Uragnite finally evolved today, still waiting on the sea monk.
