I was able to patch and log into the the game on one PC then maybe 15 mins later I try to patch my second one and find the system is down again?
There's no mention of this second downtime on http://www.playonline.com/ff11eu/info/info_top.shtml
What gives?
They broke linkshells. If you join a unity you are demoted from sack or shell holder to pearl. I really really hope this can be fixed and sacks and shells are restored.
My linkshell was changed into a linkpearl

They've now posted an 'emergency maintenance' post .. they say they have no ETA so that doesn't bode well. One wonders if their logs actually record any previous state of a pearl.
Seems to be an abject failure of their QA to pick up something apparently so disastrous.
