Hi Community Reps,

I want to respectfully ask if you could take into consideration these suggestions and please kindly present the DEV TEAM if you feel that this topic is worth it.

Many of us long time players use 1 account to play all of our jobs. The very few who are willing to level another account do it for the purpose of Duel Boxing so they can get things done solo much more effectively than sit in town all day and wait for strangers.

The current state of FFXI right now is different than back when level 70 was the cap. The old DEV team that placed merit point limitations were in a different moment of the game compared to the DEV team we have now.

These days due to several changes such as cap being raised to 99, New jobs added such as Geomancer and Runefencer, new merit points are required.

The way FFXI is built to depend on other people for personal progression, this game is quite solo unfriendly in nature therefore enforces all of us to level several other jobs in order for us to get around the game conveniently.

This is not our fault due to how content has made it harder to find others to party with. To add on to this, because too many quests, missions, and so much content gives every player so much to do, this further complicates each player to find the right people for the basic goals we need to accomplish.

Therefore leveling certain jobs such as Beastmaster, Summoner, Pup for soloing our Relic, AF2-3, Limbus, BCNM. Due to VW being difficult to find the right people, some of us have leveled certain jobs due to the lack of availability such as Blue Mage, Corsair.

And now with current Delve, many of us has now switched over to leveling Bard, Cor, Paladin, White Mage, Redmage. Now that its harder to find people for Abbysea, Theif, Ninja, Blackmage, Warrior and Samurai are required for us to level in order to lowman bosses for our AF3 for the purpose of Procing.

Content enforces us to take this action due to areas not showing favor to certain jobs, Lack of people to do certain content or content is too high level to solo.

One of the notoriously well known items Maat's cap has a basic requirement of having 15 jobs level 66, therefore this is proof that the current state of FFXI promotes us to level more than 1 job.

Therefore I am stating that because the current state of FFXI is different than 70 level cap where merit points were limited based on that era and not the current era, it would be much appreciated if we could receive an increase in Merit points to better support the other jobs that we play on our main account such as Weaponskill points, magic skill points, combat skill points, attributes.

I believe this will not only allow us to enjoy the other jobs we play, this will not have any negative effects torward players creating other characters. Due to inventory issues, many of us still have several additional characters to send our items for storage.

Dual boxers will also continue to use 2 accounts for the purpose of soloing. Crafters will continue to use a fresh new character for inventory ease.

One detail I did forget is that as higher content is released, higher stat demands are required. Even with 500+ enfeebling magic, bosses like Kurma still resists enfeebling magic.

Because some of us have used points on Dark magic, Enhancing, Enfeebling and elemental skill, 8X4 is 32 points used.

Geomancy, Handbell was added to Magic Skills category leaving it impossible to merit. Unless we sacrifice one or 2 categories for these 2. Which in my opinion is quite unfair.

Abyssea +1/+2 farming has to be made soloable removing the proc system and putting the drops as normal drops with increased chance for TH so this bullshit of needing to have blm,whm,nin,blu in our pockets ends.

Also removing the time limit in abyssea entirely. Abyssea is an old content that barely has people doing things besides experience points. Its time to close the gap for new players and make AF3+2 easier to obtain.


And no, this Atmacrap extravaganza won't help shit if newbies are on pink gear trying to solo stuff. Getting help from strangers is becoming harder and harder since everyone is worried about delve.

I have to agree, sure the added atma reduces the likelihood of newer players getting killed fast, what about the KI's needed for to use these atmas? (I didn't read the event completely, can anyone clear this next part up?) Lunar abyssites are more important than the atma, what's the point of having the best atma if you can't use the max 3 at a time? In my opinion this is only a stop-gap measure to give people a leg up but they can't use the things unless they get help with killing the zone bosses.

I mostly agree with what you said, however this is not true. They are giving new players some of the best atma in the game for nothing, as well as a Lunar Abyssite, free cruor, and a lot of stones. That is a large boost to getting people caught up on things so far as Abyssea goes. With the atma in question, a Teal WHM can keep a party alive, a pink NIN can tank, a teal BLM will have the MP to proc, any job can DD mildly well in any gear, and so on. In the end, this event is a lot of help to newer players in the part that atma, cruor, and abyssite play, but gear is not effected, that much is completely true, and that's the most important thing outside of the event itself. In the end, its not fixing all of Abyssea's issues it has had develop since moving so far past it, but it does help people, its just not exactly the help people really needed, though I am not sure much can be done outside of giving people the gear, or making seals much, much easier.

They listed in there that players will get the one that costs 100k Cruor for free, or an extra 100k cruor if they already have it. In my opinion, with a single Atma some of the ZBs will not be all to hard to take down for a small party of players even if most of them are fairly fresh, for instance an up and coming WHM would be able to heal well even if it was only with Minikin, a BLM could kite nuke C-C with Minikin, a WAR or NIN could live easier to proc with Mounted, or do more damage with RR to kill faster. Its only 1 Atma, but it is an Atma, and should help quite a bit with the power of the ones being given, seeing as they are giving out most of the best ones, the only great one not included is Apoc, for understandable reasons as well. I think it will help personally, is it perfect? No, but it is a large step in the right direction for them, the only real complaint I have about it is that this is a limited time offer, for like a month or 2, when it should be implemented as a full time thing forever instead, besides that, having all Abyssea warps unlocked at the start would be a great help too.

You mean 66.

Maat's cap was always intended to be a trophy. I don't disagree about leveling multiple jobs, because that's obvious, but Maat's cap has nada to do with that.

Thanks I corrected it. Yeah the point was, this item proves that SE is encouraging us to level more than 1 job with such a reward. In fact 15 jobs. To beat Matt with each job requires gear and skills. Can't imagine beating him gimp.

Well it kinda does I mean, if you already made it to 66, might as go all the way, especially if yiu decide to spend time getting the proper gear and skilling up to reach cap.

The main problem is still having to depend on others for content that is barely being done. The game population is shrinking each day and getting +2 items in abyssea is a nightmare without a ls to back you up. Getting multiple +2 items?

I would say that getting a delve weapon nowadays requires less effort and LUCK then getting +2 stuff from abyssea. This HAS to be addressed.

Lol, I flat out gave up on depending on LS. Leveled BST to 99, bough some gear in AH, made 2 -PDT axes, although 1 is good enough to do a lot. I find that I barely use the 2nd one. Did ducal guard quest and bam! Solod all my seals, +2s and had a pretty good time doing it.

BST isn't as bad as some people think. It's actually fun.
