Please explain how affinity is different than magic attack bonus.
Magic attack bonus is added to the unmodified spell's damage. Affinity is a % increase added after magic attack bonus.
(magic damage + constant + (multiplier * dINT)) * (Magic Attack Bonus / Magic Defense Bonus[enemy]) * (affinity) * (staff[ie:iridial staff]) * (other modifiers)
We have a lot of gear to choose from to increase our magic attack bonus, affinity on the other hand has only the following to boost it: ToM staves, atma, atmacite. 'staff' only has 18 lvl.51 staves that affect it, & gets outclassed easily when affinity cannot be boosted to the point where x*y > x+y.
constant & mulitplier are dependant on which spell was cast.
