Emergency Maintenance 7/17/13

If we participated in a wildreive where the evaluation was not taking place can we be compensated by a GM? I joined a wildreive at 55% and participated for 2 hours. I received no evaluations nor an item even though I participated throughout. This was my first time defeating the Naakual. Got a mere 36 Bayld after it was done. Could I get my bayld back or anything of the sort? Or in situations like this, is the player out of luck? I'm assuming the latter, but I thought I'd ask.

Technically you did already pay and participate. Regardless of whether you got any items or not. Emergency maintenance to return your Bayld would be like asking the heavens to rebuild your house and give you everything you owned that was destroyed in a hurricane, tornado, flood, fire, etc back. SE would have to also compensate those who entered dynamis, salvage and all other areas if they have to compensate those who entered Wildkeepers reive.

I know it's unfair. I mean the amount of time it took to save Bayld to even participate in Wildkeepers Reives, maybe if enough people complain, community reps and devs could possibly grace us with an answer.

I wouldn't hold your breathe on it though. Personally I never participated in WR. I mean this isn't the first time an emergency maintenance happened. In fact it always happens often after a new update.

Edit: To either compensate others for all things or to do a personal rollback on every single server sounds like too much work for SE and the Dev team. They maybe too busy trying to fix the problem that caused them to shut the server down for maintenance. I just don't see them going into panic mode to answer the thousands of players one at a time to find out who needs to be reimbursed.

No, you are comparing an act of nature against man to an act of man against man. SE has every ability and reason to compensate players for their errors, nature can not be said the same about.

There is no reason not to compensate players, it will only anger more people. We have enough angry people on this game as it is right now, and enough people quitting, we do not need more of it simply because they refuse to compensate players for their ill warned maintenance to fix their errors, us players did nothing wrong in any way shape or form, and yet are expected to take all of the punishment for this problem.

I mostly agree with you. Yeah it would be a pain...but maybe not? Would it really be that hard for them to narrow down the specific people who participated in wildreives the past two days and toss them 75K bayld? I mean, even if it wasn't me getting the bayld, I could care less if everyone affected got 75K bayld (regardless if they got an item or not). It's not going to break the system. Clearly wishful thinking. GMs get paid to tell us sorry.

Hey DJ I'm not disagreeing about deserving a compensation at all. But if you read what Masamune11 posted in his first comment. He did in fact say he joined at 55% and played for 2 hours.

I also do believe its unfair to those who spent time earning assault points to purchase a Ki to enter salvage only to be kicked off the server because of an emergency maintenance.

We cannot predict the outcome of a natural disaster just the same as human error and we cannot predict when a problem is going to occur on the server, hence why I used the example to begin with.

Yes I agree there are many angry customers. Many do want to rage quit. But I believe that SE cannot be blamed for every single problem that they are making effort to fix. Blame them for stuff that they don't fix or implement when promised.

Yes blame them for losing time over such a reason as this. But if SE did not respond to such a question years ago for the same reason, im just stating the obvious. This isn't the first time we had an emergency maintenance. This isn't the first time people lost Bayld for entering WildKeepers Reives. And this isn't the first time we all had such maintenance happen after a new update.

Think about the process it takes for GM team to help those who had their accounts hacked.

Now think about each and every single player who entered WildKeepers Reives, salvage, Dyna, BCNM, used pops for Abyssea, Sea, Used Displacers voidwatch, How many players wasted 3 Kis and displacers and entered PW, paid gil to enter WoE although its only 1K...

Now imagine how many people that would be on every single server.

I'm sure they would have to interview and investigate each and every single player who requested compensation.

And I was one of those people who thought I deserved to have my entire account restored after not paying for 3 months when SE deleted my account losing 7 jobs 75 when that was the cap and multimillions of gil worth of gear. Yet I couldn't argue with SE since they did state it in their policy that it would happen.

Edit: So you guys are not the only one who thinks its unfair. I just learned to deal with it and move on. And yeah at that time it took a couple of years to earn all of that.
