I am un able to trade/use the hatchet on the ??? That spawns the guardian treant.
I've tryed moving aroun logging out and back in and still haven't been able to get it.
It just doesn't do anything the only message I get is when I'm out of range o it

If you are out of range, it is very likely that you are at the right locale at least (there is another spot one can easily mistake for this quest's target).
One needs to climb a bit on top of a rock or wood, can't remember which it is, but one can't reach from the ground-ground.
