anyone have any clue as to why SE deemd it ok to make a HNM/NPC that can and will kill you but have no way of dmging it in any way?.
this is in ref to the dark rider that is odin. that mean ass has killd me and my pty counless time while being out and about in the mire.

I've only seen him once in my career, and even then it wasn't him that killed us, it was his pet Imp or whatever it was, which we did in fact engage and tried to kill. Key word tried. We were level 62ish at the time.
I followed him on a chocobo. He ignored me till he got tired of me and disappeared.

It's so he can make foot prints for newbies to increase their assault rank. I thought Odin & his pets were passive unless you tried to engage them? I've also never seen him though.. but now I want to lol maybe I'll go looking for him when the servers are up.
PS. Maybe there's some secret to actually fighting him & he drops all his Einherjar gear.. though I doubt it lol.
Thematically I guess. Odin's appearance ties in with the Treasures of Aht Urghan storyline. He doesn't aggro, so if he kills you it's your own fault.

You probably need a special item or use an ability to weaken him. My first guess is that since he has a pet imp he's immune until the pet is killed first.
I know nothing of this monster so don't slam me for posting about it.
