2 days straight and still dealing with this issue..

Below Is all my information to the computer set everything up for FF 11 Everything works,no lag or anything. Used the Benchmark no issue, Checked files no issues when i enter the world in game My character is not being shown nor is anyone else not even the npc. Did research . roll backed drivers issue still not fixed updated everything on the computer not fixed, reinstalled everything still the same issue. Everything on my computer meet or exceeds the expectations requirements That FF11 request's and yet i still have this issue . Yes I also have every Direct X which my computer has Direct x 11. Not sure what to do....

Windows 8.... they aren't quite prepared to fully support it yet, but have you tried the stabilization option yet?

Not sure if it still applies in Win8, but there was an issue a while back where Vista/Win7 needed some tweaking to the DirectX to better support legacy DirectX (pre DX10). Had to run the offline DirectX installer to fix it (not the web installer, there is a full package you can download for offline installation). Sometimes the DirectX installer needs to be run again also after changing a video/sound card out--post DX9, the normal installer from the web only downloads/installs certain files based on detected hardware, so when that hardware changes, it may need different files for proper support.

Also noticed you're using Intel Graphics. Could be a configuration/driver issue that needs to be addressed with Gateway or Intel--it might not be securing texture memory properly or something (shows only 32MB dedicated?). Could try checking your BIOS to see if there are some options for the graphics memory, or in the Intel Control Panel while in Windows.

Edit:
Out of curiosity, I did a little googling about how your Intel HD Graphics is reporting 32MB of dedicated memory (it technically doesn't have any dedicated memory, but it reports a value when queried). Apparently, this is a fairly common problem with the Intel HD Graphics on the Sandy Bridge processors (particularly in laptops). Some games will flat out refuse to even load because when queried, it is not reporting enough dedicated memory (http://communities.intel.com/thread/...art=0&tstart=0 one short thread at Intel Community site). Considering FFXI wants 128MB, this may be a large part of your issue--meaning it could very well be a driver issue of sorts. Check your laptop's BIOS to see if you have options for increasing the preset value for DVMT (may be an option in there for unsupported OS's) to see if it might help. If this doesn't help, might have to try running the game at a lower resolution.

update on looking into this, as I am currently thinking about nabbing a laptop when the tax return gets here and a lot of the deals have the cheezy embedded GPU's with no dedicated memory. There is actually a thread at the Intel community forums about this very issue you may want to bookmark. There was a post around the new year stating specific drivers to use as a workaround for both Win7 and Win8 (note, it is an older driver and may screw up newer games):

Still no real fix from Intel found as of the first of the month. Might want to keep an eye on this thread to see if they find a more acceptable solution.

You have to make sure the driver you rolled back to ends in wddm (or wmmd) will only be one listed, I also installed the directX8 that came with an older version of the game. fixed the same issue I was having.

We are sorry to hear about your graphical issues. The main problem with this issue does not seem to be the driver, but actually Windows 8 using the wrong driver. There was previously a thread in regards to this issue that managed to get this problem resolved.
