Make it possible to refund those rare/ex items that were somewhat useful at level 75 back into the points we spent to get them. I'm mostly talking about einherjar points but this could apply to conquest/imperial standing/and other events that had rare/ex gear available to purchase. If you can do it before I get 100k amps doing odin, that would be pretty cool too.
Buyer's remorse maybe? Or perhaps Ford can refund you the money you spent for your 1998 Ford Focus because you want the new 2012 Mustang, after the 100,000 miles you put on it?

But honestly I do not see why something like this can't be done. Rather than have those outdated items rot on a slip, it could better be used as a refund and get maybe 1/3rd the original points back to be spent on things like valk KI items for the einherjar points and exchanging those perdu and iron ram items for points for voiddust.
I like the idea of a "give and take" system on equipment bonuses where you can adjust stats on gear without having to drop and re-quest it. It would be a nice system to have certain equipment be "more easily" modified than simply dropping and requesting, but I don't think that "old gear" should be exchangeable for new gear.
This kinda already works with the Omega/Ultima pieces merging with the Arch-Omega/Arch-Ultima pieces; so it would be feasible in some events... just not a blanket system.
However I think that some gear should just be left alone.
