Please allow the "Grants food effect to wyvern" to persist on the wyvern even after we remove the Lancer's Plackart+2. The effect would help raise our wyvern's damage or survivability in events even more but the fact is the level 89 body piece is quickly made obsolete by new gear that's introduced. So similiar to Wyrm Mail, if the wyvern is out and and we consume food with the Lancer Plackart+2 on, allow the effect to persist on the wyvern for the duration of the food effect after the body piece is removed. The effect is so useful and Wyvern damage is so low in difficult fights anyway due to NMs universally resisting Breath damage by such a huge amount(in legion, einherjar, new limbus and every event for level 99 content, my wyvern almost never breaks 100 damage on a regular breath attack even at full HP, it usually does 20-30) and wyverns normal attacks usually hit those NMs for 10-25.
The modest attack increase for granting our wyvern 150ish attack from red curry would not upset the balance as DRG is already considered a mediocre damage dealer for level 99 content compared to WARs, DRKs, SAM's and MNKs due to lacking powerful job abilities to enhance damage and lackluster weapon skills with attack penalties to compete with Ukko's Fury/Resolution/Victory Smite/Tachi:Shoha(Why does Drakesbane have -20% attack penalty?!) When I say poor WS for DRG I'm referring to the fact that our strongest weapon skill is Stardiver. Although that's our strongest WS, DRG is not even the best job at using it. I've seen Samurais using a weak Polearm utilize Stardiver and output more damage with my own WS than the job most intended to use it. So while Stardiver is decent, it's really nothing too great, oh and Camlann's Torment is a joke, it's slightly better than Wheeling Thrust. Perhaps if Camlann Torment ignored 50% defense at 100% TP like Wheeling Thrust it might be less of a joke but the fact that the defense ignored is so low at 10%, it's in essence as strong as Sonic Thrust, maybe weaker since it's a VIT modifier, which is a slap in the face since Victory Smite is STR based and MNK's excel more in VIT than DRG does, but DRG's empyrean WS was given the VIT modifier(just like our Relic WS Geirskogul was given an AGI modifier)
If Wyvern breaths did the damage they were intended to do on these difficult level 99 content NMs, Dragoon's overall damage output with the wyvern's damage added in would be more than satisfactory. The core problem is that DRG's battle strength was set lower than other melee jobs due to the fact that the Wyvern is supposed to add damage from its own regular attacks and breaths after the dragoon's WS. On normal enemies this is true since the wyvern hits for 85-150+ and breaths due about 260-350 or so. That kind of damage added compensates for DRG's lack of an attack boosting JA and poor WS selection. Since on hard fights the wyvern damage is so low, hitting for 10-30 damage and doing less than 30 damage on a breath attack, the DRG's already poor damage output is accentuated and more noticeable to the point that the only purpose the wyvern has for the dragoon is simply there only to enhance our Spirit and Soul Jump and contribute nothing more. Repeat: THE ONLY PURPOSE WYVERNS HAVE IN ENDGAME 99 CONTENT IS TO BE PRESENT FOR THE DRG TO GAIN FULL BENEFIT FROM SOUL AND SPIRIT JUMP. As soon as the DRG dies within the first 5 minutes of the fight from a powerful AoE attack, no matter how durable the wyvern is from all the enhancements the developers gave it like steady wing and damage resistance, the wyvern dies because we die. In essence, the player is much more likely to die now than the wyvern, so in a hard fight the DRG dies sometimes in the first few minutes and is crippled for the next 15.

Considering the relationship a DRG has with its wyvern, it's somewhat ridiculous you can't share what you eat to begin with, plackart or not.
...Although Ophannus, you do realize in your example, you want to feed your wyvern...dragon meat? (Let's not go into what gets grounded-up in a Pet Food Zeta/Eta/Theta biscuit when a bst rewards their coeurl or apkallu familiars) -

On topic, it really wouldn't hurt to let wyverns share Dragoons' food at all levels. Wyverns aren't quite like avatars, automatons, or familiars as their damage is nowhere close to the latter three pets' damage potential. In fact, I'd go further and request separate Job Traits/Abilities for wyverns according to the Dragoon's Support Job (Double Attack/Attack Bonus/MAB for Offensive; Cure Potency+/Sacrosanctity/Esuna Breath for Defensive). -

We get some traits for our wyvern with AF2 body, though not all traits are transfered and they don't make much of an impact, and we can empathy over berserk and stuff. Wyverns are all around weak endgame. Their only purpose during hard battlefields or strong NMs is to just exist so that we get bonus TP from Spirit/Soul Jump. They serve no other purpose. Breath damage is reduced HEAVILY on new NMs and restoring breath is unnecessary if healers are doing their job.
