How about the Utsusemi counter. (Probably one of the best updates to date :) ) Can you change the color or something of the counter itself? Depending on the background light/color sometimes its impossible to see.

what they should do is make the shinigami paper doll icont as 3 seperate icon that vanish per shadow so its easier to notice rather a tiny number you can barely see even in good lighting. this ninja effect icon changed so much in 7 years its funny.

All they need to do is make the numbers bigger and put it on a solid background.

they could do that, just a bit hard in a way because of how the HUD is set up when it comes to buff icons. can't make it too big or small or it looks bad. You want it visually pleasing, or it would be a huge turn off.

I'd also like to see a different colored icon depending on whether Ichi or Ni is in effect. There has been a few times I've forgotten which I've cast in the heat of the moment.

For PC specifically are they not basically doubling the size of them for the new UI.

I'm 360 player i know nothing of ffxi pc HUD set up.

Utsusemi: San idea: rather than shadows, creates an exact clone of yourself that fights by you. Shares all stats, actions, enmity, etc. Mimics you completely. Except rather than HP, it is defeated by a set number of blows like Shadows. Of course, recast and number of Shihei needed to cast would be adjusted accordingly.

tbh that actually makes more sence then what we currently have... utsumei always made me think of narutos shadow clone jutsu
