[Tool] Haste calculator
Hello everyone.
Due to the popularity of the previous post with the haste discussion, I decided to make a generic tool for the not so math savy people to see how their build compares.
Currently it is just for martial arts (pup and monk) and dual wielders. As I get time I will add in a tab for single wield, and a tab for 2 handers. The goal for me was to see the benefit of 1% haste vs -10 ma when deciding which necklace to use. I wanted to be able to compare the actual difference in swings per minute so it might be slightly tailored to my tastes at the moment but I am open to suggestions.
It is currently saved on google docs, and is an xls (office 97-2003 format).
Let me know any suggestions you have (aside from things I already said I am working on)
Notes:
1) Yellow fields are fields you must enter, most are either a drop down box or fill in the blank
2) Bard haste is assumed to be 25% and spell haste to be 15%. (For bard this requires +2 march and af3 gloves). I realize blu have a 10% spell haste but I didn't feel the need/desire to add it since they also get a 15%.
3) MA from gear is the -10 delay you get from things like cirque af3 armor. or the -5 you get from cirque necklace, etc.
4) DW from gear is the % listed on the piece, aka 5 is for suponomimi
5) Swings/ min is the number of 'rounds' multiplied by 2 (1 swing per hand) and then accounting for acc, DA, and TA.
6) I used % based calculations instead of 1024 numbers, I will be going back eventually to correct this but it will take some time. Although a rough sketch showed that was only a fraction of a % off on total calculations so it should only be a minor change.
Google docs version:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?...ILVRmZ3c&hl=en
XLS version (for download):
https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&p...MzYwY2Zk&hl=en
When the link opens, select "File" "Download original", dont try to do it on the web, none of the drop down boxes work.
Update:
Added STP, TP/HIT, WS/MIN, and HIT WS
Minor fixes other tweaks
If you try the google doc version just know that you will have to type in everything since the drop down boxes dont work.

Updated the excel to include 2 handers and single wield
As I dont play a 2 handed job let me know if I am missing anything on this.

Sadly, not even this can convince some people on this board that some of their gear choices are horrible.

True, but I did find it nice to know that i was right that I was better off with 24% gear haste and -20ma then 25% gear haste and -10ma
(pup/dnc, with spell and /dnc haste, if you add in bard haste it switches to 25% haste with -10ma > 24% haste with the -20ma)

Interesting, would be better if it was an online form that way it doesn't require having Excel.
Some suggestions:
- Consider allowing haste to be added per slot since depending on the gear you might not get the full percentage. Of course this would mean you have to include the individual X/1024 values.
- Add STP (annoys me when I see a SAM with 7 hit build preaching Haste > STP).
- Reword "Haste needed to cap" its misleading. Maybe "Total Haste needed to cap attack rate" long I know but it clarifies what it means for those who don't know the finer details but want to use your tool.

ffxi calculator doesnt do what this does, it is just strictly delcay calculation and doesnt allow for comaprison of DA / TA gear with haste gear.
I wish I had the skill to make it an online form or a .exe but excel is the extent of my knowledge. As far as haste per slot its not worth it since each piece of gear is basically a unique x/1024 value and without knowing it for each and every item it would never be acurate. Which is why some 25% haste builds are a true 25% and others are 24.3% or something.
stp is already done on ffxi calc, but i can see about adding it.
haste needed to cap is just that, the haste needed to reach the delay reduction cap.

Don't say that word. Suffice to say is one of the words the Knights of Ni! cannot hear!
