Merit Cap Increase In Regards To Roadmap

The roadmap states that the update this month includes 2-hour obtainable merited abilities for level 99 players:

I propose that the merit cap be lifted in light of this from 30 to 50 or higher.

Even if the two-hour merited abilities aren't included in this update, I still propose the cap be lifted. There are numerous amounts of merit categories now that are expensive to say the least (22-30 merits for 1 upgrade) and the 30 cap just doesn't cut it.

I'd imagine all that would be required is changing a simple variable from 30, but maybe it's more difficult. :p

There's not realy a point unless they add merits that cost more then 30.

I thought the roadmap mentioned those updates are for the test server only?

The only reason they'll raise the merit point cap is if they make each point require 30-70 points to raise...what you thought they raised it to 30 out of the kindness of their hearts? lol

When I saw the thread, thought it was for categorical cap increases. Would rather see adjustments to the categories (combat skills, weapon skills, etc.--where we would SPEND the merits) than an increase in the points we can earn at once.

You guys really enjoy having to go back to your mog house for each upgrade and then walk back to an exp camp? If you're doing GoV, you lose all of your prowess in the process of having to dump them. Abyssea experience points reset when you get back too. Raising the cap would make this less of a burden.

might as well ask SE to add test-moogle on live server into everyMH so you just need to hit a button to get capped merit

No it wouldn't. What came with the last cap raise? Weapon Skill merits. Know how many 1 upgrade takes? 20, know how much others take? 25 then eventually 30, the full merit point cap. If they raised it to 100 and you have nothing else to realistically merit, guess what they'll likely be introducing? Yep something that takes 100 merits for 1 upgrade.

So in the end there wouldn't be any "cap > camp > mh > spend > repeat" alleviation.
