I've been putting off a sublimation gear set for the longest time, but I finally decided to make one.
This meant getting my Savant's Earring out of Porter Moogle's Storage Slip 8 and Argute Gown out of Porter Moogle's Storage Slip 6. Not only that but I finally decided to do my SCH Artifact quests, yay me!

With no "Sublimation Enhanced" Gear, the ability takes 2min45 sec to charge.

With only one piece, it takes 2min 30sec.

Two pieces, drops it down to 2min!

Three pieces, had lowered my timer to 1min 45sec.

So I decided I should enhance my Gown via Magian Moogle and surprisingly... Now with a better Argute Gown, the completion time still capped at 1min 45sec.

I figured the completion timer would have dropped even more due to the rate in which HP was being drained with my current Sublimation & HP gear.

I'm no math wiz but... Something doesn't seem right here. Why? And... Can you please fix it?

Did you upgrade from NQ to HQ1 or from HQ1 to HQ2? Only Argute Gown +2 gives a higher Sublimation effect, Argute Gown +1 has the same Sublimation rate as the regular Argute Gown.

To the +2 with Magian quest... I completely bypassed Sagheera.

Could be the body is broken, you tried if it's shorter with SCH's weapon from Abyssea?

Thinking about it, that's a lot of Sublimation gear. Could it be that the effect caps? I'm not aware of any caps, but I'm not that far myself yet. At Lv99, Sublimation from SCH main will give 8MP for 2HP, and every piece (of which he mentions 3) will add 1 to both, so 5HP to 11MP. Maybe it caps at 11MP or 5HP?

Garota, you can do a proper test by checking the recovered MP amount instead of the elapsed time. Use Sublimation and use it again after it wears off and check how much MP was recovered. Best to have no Regen gear on, so you see exactly how much HP was converted to MP.

Nah, don't have that club yet. I recovered 407 MP prior to upgrading the gown. After upgrading it, I recovered 408 a whole extra 1 MP. But that's not what I'm concerned about the time elapsed. But I don't wanna make a more extensive test... :/

Just tried on the Test Server.

With the club, hat, earring and +2 body it should put it up to 13/tic with the gear I had I recovered 390 MP as I only wore those (Enhances sublimation) items. Which I then worked out as: (390 divided by 13) x 3 which gave me 90 seconds. (feel free to correct my math if I'm wrong, I suck at math)

I then tested it on the server and it fully charged at 1.26 so it definitely works on the Test Server, couldn't test it on the main one.

EDIT: Also the gown drained an extra 2HP/tic which fits with what it's supposed to do.

The time elapsed depends on the HP and isn't necessarily an indicator of the conversion rate, neither is the total amount. You don't get an MP bonus with more Sublimation gear equipped, it only converts the HP to MP faster. So it's possible that it took longer because you had higher HP at one point. Before you confirm that, a bug report makes little sense, as it's entirely possible that the error lies with you, as indicated by Daniel_Hatcher's testing.

Not saying you're wrong, it could very well be that they messed up on the real server implementation, just saying that the information you provided isn't enough to fully support that. I don't have the +2 body yet, so I cannot test it myself yet, but if you could provide some more numbers, this bug report would have a lot more meaning.

As I said, to proper test it simply change to SCH/RDM (or anything but /WHM, /SMN or /PLD), unequip all Regen and Refresh gear, use up some MP (100 should be enough), make sure you're at full HP (can cure yourself to use up some MP and get to full HP) and finally Sublimation. After 30s hit it again. Then tell us how much HP you've lost and how much MP you've recovered, that would clear everything up and we could judge whether or not there is a bug.

Hello! This thread got me curious about the details of SCH's sublimation all over again, and I decided to do some testing of my own. Unfortunately, the data I came up with made me more confused than I began with. Here are the specifics.

I tested with a Hume(not Taru) character that has Lv95 SCH, four pieces of equipment(all NQ) that enhance sublimation, and 5/5 Max Sublimation. /RDM was used. Not sure if it makes any difference, but the HP merit is 11/15 and MP merit is 4/15. The test was done on the Leviathan server.

Naked (16 empty slots) 2HP <-> 8MP according to wiki
max HP 1328 / max MP 790
94HP depleted for 384 MP in (47tics x2hp = 47 tics) / ratio is 8.17MP per tic
estimated time: about 2min 25sec

with Savant's earring (15 empty slots) 3HP <-> 9MP according to wiki
127HP depleted for 387 MP in (42tics x3hp and 1tic x1hp = 43tics) / ratio is 9.0MP per tic
estimated time: about 2min 10sec

with Savant's earring and Siriti (14 empty slots) 4HP <-> 10MP according to wiki
154HP depleted for 390 MP in (38tics x4hp and 1tic x2hp = 39tics) / ratio is 10.0MP per tic
estimated time: about 1min 59sec

with Savant's earring, Siriti, and Scholar's mortarboard (13 empty slots) 5HP <-> 11MP according to wiki
max HP still 1328, but MP+15 from the mortarboard gives the new max MP of 805
173HP depleted for 385MP in (34tics x5hp and 1tic x3hp = 35tics) / ratio is 11.0MP per tic
estimated time: about 1min 46sec

with Savant's earring, Siriti, Scholar's mortarboard, and Argute gown (12 empty slots) 6HP <-> 12MP according to wiki
gown's +15HP and +15MP give the new max HP of 1343 and new max MP of 820
192HP depleted for 396MP in (32tics x6HP = 32tics) / ratio is 12.375MP per tic
estimated time: about 1min 42sec

At this point, I did three more tests, substituting the gown(since it modifies HP and MP) for one of the pieces.
Also, note that estimated times might be off by a second or two due to the delay in hitting /clock, and is therefore unreliable.

== Conclusion ==
This small amount of data seems to be in line with the 2-6HP depleted for 8-12MP recovery for a LV95sch info from wiki. What I find interesting is that the +15HP from the gown did not affect the result one bit, except for the +/- 2 seconds in the estimated time. I apologize if this was the wrong place to put this data, but I am really curious about the mechanics and the actual formula for calculating the MP returned. It would be great if someone could make more (accurate) sense of this minor data that I collected and shared here.

To Garota the OP, I see a similar pattern in my own testing where the more "enhance sublimation" gear we stack on, the less of a benefit we see, to the point where it almost looks like not much difference is made with the last piece of "enhance sublimation" gear. I do sort of agree with Arcon though that we (as the players' community) should try to understand the real reason(in the form of a more accurate formula?) we are getting our results before we report this as a definite bug. I thank you for bringing this up and I hope we find out something about this.
