Define what you mean by 'worth it', because as it stands if you're not taking it past 90 I'm fairly sure there are better options (unless you maintain level 3 AM iirc).

Honestly if you're willing to make that commitment, I'd just make Rag. It's superior to Caladbolg, and it would take as much if not less time and gil to get Rag to 95 compared to Caladbolg.

Same 95 Rag is cheaper than 95 emp and it's much stronger.

The answer to your question is no. It is not worth it. If you're only taking it to 90, the OAT GS is a lot better, and if you're taking it to 95+ you could have made a Ragnarok.

Empy 95+ < Ragnarok


So no - Dont make an empy.

Empy isn't that good for GSWD. The WS is 60% VIT mod and not really that good when compared to Resolution.

If your serious about DRK, make a Rag, it's boss and can easily get to 95. The 99 upgrade also isn't that bad with marrow prices droping as they are. A nice long term project.

If your not serious enough to create a Rag then make an OaT GSWD. It's delay puts it in a much better position for 5~6 hit which when combined with it's proc rate turns you into a Resolution spamming machine.

While aftermath is up 99 Cala > Rag (as long as Accuracy isn't an issue)

Ofc this is in very rare cases like 90 sec zergs were you can get tp before hand and some VWs in everything else ragna varys from beating it by a little to destroying Cala (40 acc is amazing).

Either way there both very powerful weapons but the thing that i'd say make Ragna better is 2 simple points... 1 WAR can wear it and since it's the best zerg weapon for WAR that means alot and that it's alot cheaper atm
