[dev1098] New Merchant NPC Items: Needs more Raise III

I refuse to pay 900,000 gil to raise the bitch ass of the person who ripped me off. Raise III does not benefit the purchaser. If an NPC sells it for a modest price, then we are less idiotic for buying it. If an NPC sells it for 500,000 gil or so, I'd rather give my gil to that NPC. Doctors don't pay their patients.

I nominate Proud Beard to sell it. He's given me so much gil, I'd be happy to put it some back into his pocket. Thanks.

I agree i'ts overpriced, though you should simply go do the fights which drop it instead. It was meant to be not as easy to obtain as other spells.

Raising people does benefit the caster, because it means you might win a battle when you wouldn't have otherwise because of deaths. Just because it isn't cast on you, doesn't mean it doesn't benefit you. However, Raise III is only marginally better than raise II.

All that being said, they really should consider making it easier to obtain if they really intend to make a new raise spell super hard to obtain.

Personally, in this day and age Raise III is something I consider to be a trophy piece or the last spell for the collection, a novelty at best. Even at 75 it was common for all DD to use RR earrings before an event and after each death. Even then RIII was only used to speed up the process of revivals in mass wipes and to prevent exp loss in a time exp was much harder to come by. Fast forward to today, in addition to standard RR earrings DD have access to cheap CP scrolls of RR, Twilight mail of some jobs granting instant RIII, Temp RR scrolls in VW, Atma of Apoc in Abyssea, Auto-raise in WoE. That all assumes 1) a timed event where raising quickly is critical and 2) there is a danger of frequent death. (Zombie has never been an effective strategy) Add to that WHM has 2 other Raise spells that grant the same effect but don't reduce EXP loss as much, given that everyone is capped exp at all times now exp loss isn't a perk anymore. RIII is worth 3k and not a gil more, that's where it was for many years, until the recent obsurd inflation. Besides, anyone brave enough to call you gimp won't be getting a raise anyway. Those are my thoughts.

Wrong, the only person to sell it should be Challoux.

The only use of raise III is in case of a wipe you can raise 3 people in a row.

ITT: Killing Kirin is hard.

Sky is all the rage right now, with Augments and all. Pick up a couple of seals, gather a group of 3-4 friends, and go kill Kirin.

However, your opening post does re-enforce my request though. Stick a moogle in town, and let it sell you everything for 1~100K Gil. Relics, Empyreans, AF, Spells - the lot.

Edit: Why use gil? Cruor. Sell everything for Cruor.

With Araise coming Raise III should be easier to obtain, and I don't mean difficulty of enemies, I mean stupid drop rates.

Obviously Raise 3 drop rate should depend on how many people your alliance have raised since the characters were created. So old players have 100% drop rate, and new players have to walk around the dunes and raise people.
