To Slay A King
We all have fond memories of amazing battles.
The ones who make your hands shake, head sweat, and heart race. The ones were you put everything on the line to win, and refuse to go down. We all share these experiences in one way or another. One of my most fond battles is the royal jelly fight. We were down to two jellys, when they fused to make the queen jelly. I was DRK, while my partner was a PLD. We got it to less than 100 health, and the PLD fell. It didnt take more than me missing for the jelly to show me whos boss. I had RR on, and was in weakness. With everything on the line, and health in critical, I had one shot to win it all. With a forceful blow, the queen jelly went down, and in awe I reaped the awards of a hard fought battle.
So whats your favorite battle? Most memorable?

lol thats an awsome start to a thread... Funny that some of these memorable fights will be laughed at in the future because of the raise of level caps and everything..
Wish I could add more to the thread but most of epic fights turn into epic fails...

lol my Maat SAM fight made me feel like that. Me and Maat used Meikyo Shisui at the same time and we both died. We used our 3rd WS together and as my Gekko killed him, the Fusion of his skillchain killed me. I couldn't believe victory was mine yet it was. I checked my title in disbelief a few times, but apparently his Fusion killed me like 0.3 seconds after Gekko took him down.

Hmmm most memorable... RDM maat fight. I thought my heart was gonna jump out and hit the screen lol
That and the final CoP and ZM fights pre-gimp. Awesome fights as we did it for our entire LS. Which meant doing that fight multiple times. Even some of the fights prior to the final fights were fantastic and memorable.
~edit~
Another comes to mind. The Rostrum Pump NM, Alastor Antlion, in Attowa Chasm. A few years back (pre-lvl cap increase) some of our LS members had stated some interest in getting the pumps so we gathered in Attowa and proceeded to fight that NM. The following day we came back to finish up and found another LS having problems as they were short-manned for it. After our LS ldr talked with their LS ldr, we agreed to team up and fight the NM until all interested had the pumps. It was one of the best times I had fighting an NM.

It'd have to be the last ToAU fight. It was about our 8th try, this time with a taru PLD tank. He did an excellent job staying alive until the last 10% or so. Time was running out, with the tank, blu and I think one of the BLM dead. The blu pops rr and goes insane winning the fight for us while tanking weakened. It was awesome. Not as impressive as his tanking the soulflayer in the mission before for the last 25% of it's health because the lame tank we had went down, but it was more memorable to me because we had tried and failed so many times.

Hmmm, most memorable fight. There's several, however the one that seems to stick out to me was a lowish level Fenrir Prime fight back in 2007. The Purple Dog was just running the train on us. All of the support and damage dealing jobs were down for the count. Our Paladin was the only man standing, and at the last possible second (Fenrir at 1%, PLD at 1%) a Banish spell for 1 damage earned us our win. Not EPIC by any measures, just something I'll never forget.

Miss kiting faf for the fun of it with Demo, and the occasional game of seeing how many times we could flail ourselves on purpose without wiping. I recall flailing it 4 times one fight and still doing just fine with it. Good times!

One of the most fun fights I've had was a duo (Drg, Whm) vs the three demons in the sam af helm fight. This was at the 75 cap and before /blu was an option. I had to run out of range of the initial big nuke after engaging them. After making quick work of the mage demon, it got easier but at one point it came down to a benidiction saving me after I dropped down to 30 hp. After a bad start and a major mishap in the middle of the match it felt so good to watch that last demon hit the floor. The win with two people was more exciting than the af at the time.
