I just had the same issue as stated above get error code FFXI-3331.
Edit: On a side note seems like an update error of some kind like the test server and client aren't communicating properly.(But eh what do I know)

Just want to report that I also got this same error today after updating from the previous version.
I'm guessing the update didn't set the client version number to whatever the server requires it to be, or a similar issue on the server end.
Has anyone been able to log onto the server at all since the update?

nope been trying to log in mostly all day and still have same error message
