Ah and you are surprised with this? Arrogance and refusing to listen to what the consumer is asking will be their downfall. If more people would voice their opinion with their wallet, they will start to listen. But SE does not even care about their consumer at all - they make no effort to keep them, nor they make any effort at all to get new ones. This is classic case of arrogance - maybe it is japanese thing? Pride? As usual money will destroy any pride or arrogance they have - just ask Nintendo - with their latest fiasco of 3DS :)

That article summed it up - 3DS had a rocky launch - Nintendo felt invincible after printing money in the last 5 years. Consumers reminded them that no, just because your brand is strong, does not give them excuse to launch shoddy product priced outrageously. If you read news everywhere, Nintendo did not have a stellar year unlike the previous years where they were laughing all the way to the bank.

And Nintendo obviously wasn't counting on selling truckloads of 3DS at that price. I dunno, I saw the holiday season price drop coming a million miles away.

Makes good reading - a good business study - SE has FF brand name which is quite well known but they need to stop relying on that and put their effort in creating quality games. They have the team, the resources, and great stable of branded games - it's time to focus on quality games. For FFXI, they should at least try to revamp and upgrade it for HD remake and advertise it properly. Tons of "classic" PS2 games are being "remade" in HD - most are minor tweaks but other like Xbox Halo got a royal treatment. Sales not exactly stellar for SE - it is time for them to revisit their blockbusters even if that means milking FF6-FF9 and give them "HD remake". FF6 and 7 are enough reasons for them to print money and laugh all the way to the bank :)

Oh they were counting on it - until the numbers telling them otherwise. Price cut is a last ditch effort to stimulate sales. No way they are doing this that fast when you look at the history of their previous consoles. Anyway back to the original post - Dark Knight getting royally screwed again :) and again... I dunno when they are going to finally revisit the Dark Knight job and make some minor adjustment.

Entrophy should at least recover TP and HP - not MP.... No one cares about MP in abyssea or outside abyssea when temp items easily recover all the mps used for events. If they are not giving this job critical hits WS or more damage, at least something useful in return? Dark wants more damage - at this point, SE does not seems to know what to make of this job. So they give it useless abilities and put many limitations - I guess they are so afraid to see many youtube videos of how awesome this job can be - just ask those RDMs... All those youtube videos of awesome RDMs in the yesteryears gave fright to the developers. They froze in terror...

When another dev crew comes in that doesn't ride the Sam bandwagon. This is just payback for the first team being in love with dark knight. Paybacks are a bitch as they say.

I smell office politics in play here hah hah hah. There are so many jobs that still need some adjustment though so that they too have their moments back in the spotlight. Rdms, Scholar, Dragoon, Ranger, Corsair, Bard, etc... At least they did work on adjusting PUP after a long 5 years. Maybe in 2015 when there are still people levelling dark, they will adjust it. There are so many great jobs that could use minor tweaking - it's silly that their excuse is always "balance" or "not have enough manpower to change spaghetti code". I guess they worry about Dark zerg strategy of the old days - or RDMs soloing just about everything pre abyssea.

Everything SE does displeases someone. If you want arrogant, it's the players who think that their latest gripe represents a significant enough block of the player base to cut into the company's bottom line.
