I was hoping to figure out how this is different/better from existing spells.

I realize that officially this stuff isn't supposed to be ready til next week, so it may be nonfunctional for a reason. That being said, I've cast it a few times so far and it's had "no effect" every time.

if this is not a malfunction, than it's stupid- it's a waste of a lengthy ability timer for a spell to have such a low success rate.

(i've cast the spell at least 10 times, with "Had no effect" every time)

It's likely broken, lots of stuff is so far. Blood Pacts, Corsair's new roll, the poison effect from Vapor Spray are all in the same boat.
