Mysterious enhancement on Goetia Gloves+2/Lancer Cuissots+2/Argute Gown+2 or bugs?

Goeta Gloves +2 Enhances "Enmity Douse" effect

Lancer Cuissots +2 Enhances "Soul Jump" effect

Savant's Gown +2 Enhances "Addendum: White" effect
Enhances "Addendum: Black" effect


What do these pieces have in common? They all enhance an effect in an unknown way. Soul Jump and Enmity douse are abilities which affect enmity. The thing is, Soul Jump creates 0 enmity and Enmity Douse erases all Enmity. Tests have shown the pieces do not alter or affect the enmity gain/loss of either of these abilities nor does it affect enmity gained or loss for spells cast with Addendum active. The best experimenting and mathematical players in the FFXI community have yet to figure out what these pieces do for their respective abilities and the gear has been out for more than a year. Throw us a bone, SE and just tell us how these pieces work, as it stands there's a high chance they're glitched or their effects are so minute they don't matter.

Guess nobody is interested in ever finding out what these do =(((

maybe nullifies gain for a duration afterwards? I dunno either..... I've wanted to know!

I eliminated a lot of options with Enmity Douse, at least. I don't know what it does.

Everyone wants to know, but what should we do? There have been extensive tests on both. No one has a clue. Probably something like Critical Hit Rate +5% on Enmity Douse, and Treasure Hunter on Soul Jump.

Doubtful. "Augments [insert ability]" adds a previously unrelated effect to the job ability such as removing Blind/Paralyze/Poison to Reward for example from BST AF/AF2. "Enhances [insert ability]" tends to mean it enhances any preexisting effect such as increasing it's accuracy or formula modifiers.

I was joking. Just meant it'll be something we won't notice or that's irrelevant.

For Goetia gloves, has anyone tried to see if maybe you can reduce enmity for other people as well, like maybe those next to you, or maybe someone behind or in front of you?

Some of my tests are here. I don't remember where I wrote the other ones up. The "Second test" looks for a Trick Attack-like Enmity elimination mechanism and doesn't find it.
