Has Abyssea made people forget how to use /heal?

I really wonder about this. On more than one occasion inside abyssea, I hear mage players complain about keyers opening ISL boxes (despite having temp items to use too). Outside abyssea, I get constantly told that I "Better not run out of MP or I'll kick you." when I'm on WHM while I'm just sitting here.... I know what to do.

It's like they forgot that /heal even existed. It's a horrible day when I still hear people saying WHM running out of MP when that should not be the case anymore unless there's absolutely no time to rest im between healing while subbing /rdm for refresh and convert or /sch for sublimation and strategems, and having several refresh gear on. (SE has smothered us with Refresh gear post 75+ now.)

Abyssea has really changed the way the game is played and not in a good way either.

Pffft. I still know how to /heal. Remember that time we pewpewed JoP?

And LOL Meyi. I remember quite well.

RDM basically never runs out of MP anymore. I'm up to 12 per tick and there's room to improve that still to at least 13 I think. Then there's brd/cor/smn support... we really do have incredible refresh these days in comparison to years past. With rdm/cor/brd/smn you can get potentially +22 in refresh with refresh gear on top of that. That's easily Abyssea worthy numbers. Granted, group only buffs really hold that back. And with the demand of job duties these days it's not very realistic to maintain indefinitely. But it's there, for whatever it's worth.

I actually never run out of MP lol, so i don't really need to heal :l as WHM,

WHM/SCH, period, if you ever want to keep MP without healing you need this sub, /rdm is garbage, now and forever, if you don't see why, you probably never will.

SCH they don't really have any heavly expensive spells to warrent running out of mp unless you are none stop helixing.

BLM, even with a damn 30 MP a tick refresh this job absolulty pours out MP if they stick to heavy cost spells like tier v and jas i actually recommend a proper healing set with blm in and outside abyssea.

BLU this job does not follow the same guildlines as mage jobs so this is up to the blue to decide, but they do go through Mp really fast due to really high costing spells and small MP pool.

At 75 whm used to be quite a difficult job to play well, especially in a merits party or solo healing on an annoying HNM fight. A big part of that was knowing when to heal, knowing when to skip hastes, priorities for cures etc. I knew very few that could do the job well and not run out of MP, the vast majority of whms around now literally would not be able to play the job at all with how it used to be.

So yeah, most never really knew how to before but they sure don't now. I laugh when people say "name" is an amazing whm! anything can be an amazing whm these days lol

Correct. But then again, the game is constantly in-flux already.
