Armor: Magus AF( body, legs, feet, hands), Forest sash(waist), Blink Band to Wivre Mask(head), 2x Dodge Earrings, Msk. Cmd. Falchion, Intensifying Cape(back), Spectacles(neck)

Food: Carbonara. Sanction with refresh.

Others: Icarus Wing, Vile Elixir+1, Yagudo Drink.

Start Fight with buffing: Cocoon > Metallic Body > Refueling. Pop Yagudo Drink

Run just to water: Burst Affinity > Azure Lore > Frost Breath > click attack

when Raubahn runs to me: Head Butt > Chain Affinity > Vorpal Blade > Hysterric Barrage
Frenetic Rip > Head Butt > Death Scissors> ( somewhere in here i usually have to pop my Vile Elixir +1) Bludgeon > (from here on out i try to but usually die) Headbutt > Hysteric Barrage>

Every Single time i can get him to around 30-40% health before he kills me (opo-opo necklace strategy didnt work for me). This is starting to really frustrate me.:mad:

I will say the Opo-Opo necklace is a huge benefit. Get 4 sleeping pots and walk into the battle with 100Tp to start the fight off strong. - Spam all your job abilities, use WS, use Icarus wing, WS again.

now that our 2hr SC, maybe play with some spell combo's for testing, prior to your next fight, you might be able to chain a few spells to really put up some numbers.

Changing equipment so that you're more ideal what-nots for casting different spells would go a long way towards killing the-dude-whose-name-I-can-not-recall before he kills you. This would help your Vorpal Blade damage as well.

The AF hands, in particular, are doing nothing for you at all other than filling up a slot. Even with the limited options that come with being level 70, I'm sure there's lots of stuff better than AF hands or feet.

Zephyr Mantle provides one more shadow than the Blink Band and Sprout Smack will (probably) slow him, if you're beyond desperate.

You might consider changing your food to pizza for more accuracy, although I have no idea what the-dude-whose-name-I-can-not-recall's evasion is like.

Other than that and the points Raefien and Kwate already made, just keep at it. He has a huge pool of spells to choose from, so there's always an element of chance present.

The first thing you want to look at is your melee accuracy. At LV70 with your current gear, food choice and skills you are more than likely missing a lot of the hits on your multi-hit spells. Naturally if you're missing hits, you're missing damage and wasting MP.

I've run a mock up of your stats to work out an idea of your melee accuracy. I don't know your exact stats or Raubahns but I've used your equipment and buffs.

A LV70 Elvaan Blue Mage with DEX 60 + 4, Sword Skill 244 (Capped), Accuracy Bonus job trait and a Musk. Cmd. Falchion has ~294.6 Spell Accuracy. Against a LV75 monster (chosen to factor in that he's an NM) with 276 Evasion (probably a bit less, but not significantly) this gives you a hit rate of ~48.8%.

This means at least half of the hits you're doing when you spellcast are missing.

You can remedy through several things.

1) Use more Accuracy equipment.
2) Use a change of food. Carbonara is not very good for this fight. While it gives a STR boost, you're only going to be spellcasting most of the time and thus the ATK +18% isn't helping. I would recommend Squid Sushi (+15% Accuracy, DEX+6). This will increase your Accuracy to ~342.24 (an increase of ~45.64 Accuracy) and give you a rough hit rate of 72.6%. Still a way away from capping (95% Hit Rate) but I am only playing with rough numbers.

what you did wrong is making Blu your first 70 job. im a taru and went 0/5 on this fight before switching to pld maat fight. the testimony is horrible to get and the fight is complete luck.

personally his Red Lotus Blade could one shot me :(

instead of the eva earrings you could get some with str or dex. if you can chainskill and eat an icarus wing to WS again would be good. Meat mithkabobs are my favorite food for atk. if you have a spell to lower his defense that might be good too. and set spells to buff your str/dex. Uppercut+Battle Dance will give you the Attack Bonus trait for +10 atk. Hysterric Barrage + frenetic rip will give you Accuracy Bonus trait for +10acc.

-oh ya dont use 2hour for frost breath. use opo necklace for 100tp, burst affinity frost breath, skillchain like you have been, eat an icarus wing, 2hour and skillchain again. (2hour lets you skillchain and magic burst freely). spam spells till he's dead.

you should also pick up a chivalrous chain (even a spike necklace) and if you can wear an amemet mantle. if not there's a manlte with +5str thats really cheap now.

BLU was my 1st job to 75, way back in 07/08. My gear wasn't even close to the best, had no money, but managed to go 0/2 on this fight. Used yag drinks and TP wing. buffed before the fight did much what u did above to start. I had accuracy Bonus trait on and all the high damage spells for that level. after frost breath I did Self SC > then spamed every spell in order until one of use went down. I survived by double digit HP lol. more time u take for self buffs and healing after u engage the more opportunity you give him to use a high damage spell on you. Go in there and release the beast within, that is what this fight was about. I was level 68 BLU, and the 1st attempt i lost because i choked and forgot to pop meds and such. Maybe I lucked out, or maybe luck is a big part of this fight.

There is one big change that makes this fight considerably easier when I had to do it. Azure Lore's skillchain property makes it extremely easy to take him down very quickly. Azure lore + Frost breath and then Hydro Shot + Seedspray + Cannonball makes a light skillchain that takes off a massive chunk of his HP and he died shortly after I did that.

Of course due to the low duration of AzL you have to be very quick about it, macroing in the light SC would most likely be a good idea.

I made sure and paralyze him first. Frost Breath. opo-opo neckless to 100tp and a Icarus wing for another 100tp.

The easiest way to beat him I did was Regurgitation style set MAB eat a cream puff bring Elixers and Yags

Stay far back and cast on him. Keep refueling up reducing the wait time helps bind should stick for 20-25 seconds or so...
