Turul MIA/spawns then immediately dies

Myself and some friends have been out searching for Turul for several days now, several hours at a time and until tonight have neither seen him flying, nor claimed and being fought on the ground. Others we have talked to also said they have not seen him either. We figured it was just bad luck + the fact he can spawn and roam such a huge area.

However, tonight as I was running he finally popped in front of me, but did not fly. Instead, he walked forward 15-20 feet, stopped and stood near me, and then fell down dead. His name was never visible, and he was not targettable at any time.
