New S-E Account Transfer and Other Website Features?

As someone who recently helped a friend get FFXI set up on a new computer for the first time in years, I'm glad to see this new transfer if only to reduce the number of logins necessary just to get into the game (not to mention getting rid of the weak POL password regime).

But how will this affect website features that currently rely on the POL login information exclusively? How will this affect the Linkshell Community, or even Friend List Plus?
