I would like it to display when a spell cast scores a critical hit.
Example:
Player/monster casts X spell.
The spell scores a critical hit!
Player/monster takes X damage.

I agreed, that would be nice...
..why? wouldnt the damage spike in damage be enough for you? why clog up the chat with useless info you can eyeball?
Well about everyone should have the same.
So like If a meele can get a 'Crit Message' y wouldn't a mage?
I would explain it as follows:
A Spell consumes MP ~ A WS consumes TP
A WS can Crit (Some WS's can but won't display 'Player XXX WS deals a critiical hit.')
A Spell can Crit but doesn't Display it ever.
So going by that logic a Mage does nothing but WS (consumes something MP in that case)
So if mages get that message meeles would like to get a Crit Message possibility on their WS too!
Overall it would fair but it would also Spamm the Log.
So along with that a chatfilter for Crit Messages would be in order!
Or you can just use the chat filter options that are already there - i.e. filter out other people's damage and/or your own.
But I don't see the need for magical crit hit message to be displayed, it won't make any difference to me. Unless it's something that takes 2 minutes to fix, then yeah ok.
It's not a "fix" it's an "addition." Which depending on how the code is for the entire battle system, might be a little difficult, or very easy.
Yeaok, not going to argue over semantics in the English language seeing as it's not my native language.
So -that's- why you don't pick up on sarcasm...
Actually no, sarcasm can be somewhat hard to convey on a forum, and there was nothing in what you said or in the way you said it, that gave it away as being sarcasm. In fact, it fit in rather nicely with the rest of your posts in that thread - i.e. rage mode.
Going to leave it at that.
Actually, I'd like to see this too. I don't think it's necessary by any stretch of the imagination, but I still think it'd be nifty. I can already tell when I get a magic crit, so I'd view this as simply an aesthetic change, but one I'd like nonetheless.
