I still like the idea of a level 99 one on one fight with a legendary member of your job, for each job.
I wish people would get over that idea. It's not even like too many people could fit that role unless they added anyway. It would seem confusing to me at least. I kind of like what they've done here and it's something I'm looking forward to doing with my linkshell, honestly.
Not drunk, maybe too much coffee.
but either way, that is how it will play out in the end.
So many people Q.Q'ing about this...
Congestion won't be so bad. If I read Camate's post correctly, it's a 1-6 member BCNM. Encourage people to team up if they only have 2-3 members to get it done a little quicker.
Not to mention as everyone said - wait a day or 2 after the update if waiting in a que for LB if there is a small army..
Not meaning to stray too far off topic but when the Roundel earring BCNM opened up with the fairly recent campaign update, everyone doing the fight were in a nice que, not being a**holes about it and lining up.. It will be fine.
you shouldn't have to line up for something in a game, it is ridiculous to even think that, especially when there are very simple fixes. SE is just lazy or maybe their staff has tunnel vision and just cannot see what problems will arise from their actions.

Anyone rember when npc friends first came out?
The problem with that thought is you're not playing this game by yourself. Regardless how much content someone can "solo", it's still a MMO (I'm sure everyone here knows what that means). Everything done in this game requires working with other people, directly or indirectly. As Crawlerbasher pointed out with the introduction of the fellowship NPC. I for one was very impressed by the fact that the community on Phoenix politely lined up so that everyone was getting their turn for the battle (even popping the skelly before this).
As this is a standard BCNM area, I don't see a "huge" congestion issue arising since multiple parties can already be doing multiple BCNM's in the same zone. Ultimately, stop crying about something that hasn't even been released yet. If it's as bad as you believe it will be, then by all means, raise your pitchforks and torches and have at it.
Where am I crying? and we don't have to wait for the content to come out, we have 10 years of history to review the same mistakes SE has made over and over.
The congestion will be not as bad now. But before, anyone with an IQ over 40 knew that there would be a congestion problem with one bc and one battle at a time.
what server has 6k active people? most i remember on asura was 4k and the normal was 2-3k. and the very first day no one can even get on because of update congestion. so those who actually sit there until the update is done have a mostly empty server to play on. (i normally have 2-5 LS members on right after updates and i cant download them until after work :P)
but no one is going to line up, they'll do exactly what they did for empyrean weapons. sit RIGHT on top of the entrance and spam enter.
but MMM's are similar and even at their worst they weren't too bad. i mean this probably wont be any worse then when the game first came out and people where trying to do maat fights to get to 75.
you are confusing active with people on at a time. If you see 3k on at a time, there are at lease 6k active people on that server if not mroe.
So how about 2 different titles for the win? One title for a "hard mode" win, and a different title if you used the enfeeble item before the fight?
They can add items drop too if they want people to be more incline to "help" others - but this can cause the congestion to last a bit longer. Or what they can do is to split the bcnm - easy mode goes to one place, hard mode goes to another place. This will create massive congestion for people who want easy mode :)
On the one hand you have standing around in an abyssea xp alliance till your 20 jobs are 95 which is an achievement only in the sense of receiving a runner's up trophy at the special olympics.
Functioning in a linkshell, or shout group farming af3 upgrade items at least requires some basic interpersonal skills. If you get really lucky you might even learn something about one or two of your 20 jobs while you're at it.
While figuring out which of these two options presents more of a challenge might be intellectually taxing. I still however have complete confidence you'll discern the correct choice.
Af3+2 isn't hard. Harder than standing around in an exp Ally? Yes, actually anything more than tedious, no.
For those that doesn't understands simple math or simple logic on how having only 1 BC for the entire server for LB is going to have a massive congestion issue, just watch and wait and see what happens. When you get a group of 6 standing around trying to claim the BC entry. Remember this isn't like a NM that you're camping for drop where you can always say, I'll come back later or another time, this is a Limit Break whereby without going through it, you dont get to progress more.
[If people think VNM T3 congestion in abyssea is an issue, this will be 100 to 1000x worst of congestion given everyone has to do LB]
Don't be silly.
No one is forcing anyone to get to lvl 99 straight away.
And there will be plenty to do like the AFv2+2, which the gear is for lvl 90.
I don't see what waiting a few days for it to settle down is going to do.
And if you saying that well you find it hard getting help with it.
I will not, I have a good ls that will help me as some will be in the same boat.
Final Fantasy XI - Final LB Fight Quest
For anyone that does not know what hes going on about XD
Weird, since when did I ever say anything about this going to be hard to get help? I never once said it'll be hard to get help. I said it'll be next to impossible to do because of the single point of congestion. Congestion is the issue I'm referring to. If you look at my even earlier posting, there are so many ways that people can even potentially solo this it's not even funny.
You make it sounds like AF2+2 are must have or something that's worth spending time on. Plus, unless I missed it, does anyone even know where/how they will be upgraded? Most of these AF2+2's are just sidegrade at best to the AF3's already. Personally if it means having to slave away inside dynamis again, I have no interest at all (haven't had any interest in dynamis ever since the change. there might be a few items that interest me but as an event, dynamis just doesnt' interest me at all).
Plus, here's the biggest reason to want to get to 99 asap: things will be easier as your level gets higher. Otherwise, why bother with higher level? It's so you can finish things easier/quicker and be able to move onto newer content. Oh yeah that's right the only "new" content are more logs&ores-VW/WoE...big *yawn* there SE. Seriously, if SE can't understands the issue of the pure randomless of the stupid drop system in those system and how they're killing people's interest in VW/WoE, they really need to go and PLAY their own game WITH real paying customers/players and not their own already pimped out characters and learned the pain and frustration that their paying customers are having to deal with.
You'll see when it's not waiting a 'few days' become 'waiting a few weeks' and what that will do when you come on, gather your friends and head to the BC and all you see is 6-7 other groups of ppl camping the BC entry what congestion truth means.
And again, remember, the BC ain't instanced (which would have remove the congestion issue). So wait until you add those ppl who need to do the BC for missions/quests need to get in line as well. Oh joy that would be.
dude its just 4 levels, its not the end of the world because you can't get in for the fight from day one.
And I said AFv2+2 as ONE of the new stuff you can do.
And I doubt this will still be like this a week after the update.
You going on about ohh I will not be able to do this fight because it will be packed out.
It will settle down and it will not be OMG I can't get in.
Crawlerbasher, I want to live in the world you live in, it sounds like rainbows and butterflies are plentiful and ice cream is a diet food.
You are completely out of reality. In your opinion it is not a rush, good for you, but to 95% of the player base, it will be the first thing they want to do after the patch, guaranteed. If you don't believe this, then I don't know what to say, 10 years worth of history in this game proves you wrong.
What are there, like, 10k active players per server? Some may solo it, most will probably try to go with as many as possible, being 6. Let's say 4 is the average. And let's say they take 10min per fight. Now, I'm not sure how many instances of Qu'Bia Arena there are, let's assume it's three instances of the battlefield, meaning three fights can go on at the same time (someone please correct me on this, the math should be easy enough to adjust). Since people all around the world will want to do it, we can reasonably assume that the battlefields will be continuously occupied. That means that it will take six days to get everyone on the server to 99. Or least, after six days we can assume that it will have calmed down to a point that people don't have to worry about congestion anymore.
Doesn't sound like much? Well, maybe not in the grand scheme of the universe. On the other hand, it means that the new content will be delayed by one week to some people. And this one week they won't be able to level any of their jobs, which means they'll also be handicapped for the new events, compared to other people. And after a week, when they start to level their jobs, other people will already have all theirs at 99, and have to wait for the new people (friends and LS members) to catch up leveling, just further delaying scheduled events or irregular, unscheduled activities.
And these numbers are still assuming they can clear it in 10min and that there's three instances (of which I'm really not sure, I just know about some battlefields with three instances). Also, it doesn't account for loss, meaning one time slot wasted and having to repeat the fight, which, judging by the reported difficulty of the fight, will happen to many unprepared players. Either way, this was a completely stupid design choice. At least enable multiple battlefields, that will make it a lot easier on everyone.
None of the BC are instanced (at least the old BC and KS like the KS99 that I know of - I could be wrong since it's been a very long time since I ever seem more than 1 group at a KS at a time).
I agree to a point, and cringe when I hear things that to me are common sense in 11. However, EVERYONE was a noob at one point, and everyone that's a veteran asked dumb questions before they learned. It's just with abyssea, noobs may not get to experience older content and play style as much as pre-abyssea people, and so they get the gear and the levels before they get the experience, which can create some resentment and misrepresentation with older players and recruitment.
Exactly, you know I tried to get the job emotes when they came out and the zones were so heavy farmed for like a month, I have to go get my 20 job emotes at some point in the future. I won't bother with 99 cap till it dies down, I hate being a member of the masses. Moooooooo, going to slaughter, Mooooooo.
Lol, I remember when abyssea empyreal paradox had over 30-50 people at a time in there spaming the bcnm, a few weeks after the heros release, and that was congested.
Hmmm I might just park my mule up there to see the drama unfold, while my main farms dynamis or something somewhere else.
Ah, the Real-Life-Line-Simulator :D Those were fun. Anyone trying to cut the line got homepointed by a GM :D
Although I fear some people prefer to spam a ??? with 600 others doing the same within 50', because their hacks let them target the point before it appears (or something).
Do you need to trade anything like merits, or are just the new item/s required?
If they didn't change it that much, Merit Points are only needed for a re-try.
And not sure if any item is required (except for the key item(s) that the NPCs give during the cutscenes), that is, unless you want to lower the difficulty level. Didn't follow the changes too closely but soon we can all find out how it will be. ^^
quite high my foot.Quote:
It will be possible to obtain this item from high level monsters in each area and the drop rate is quite high.
2 weeks from now the BC zones will be nearly empty. Hell, 1 week from now it'll be wide open. Folks gotta learn patience.
It's strange. If this update hadn't come today and the cap was still 95, nobody would care. But since the update DID come today, there seems to be this view that the game is unplayable.
If it seems like SE isn't listening to you, it's because you're acting like spoiled entitled children.
I was out there on thf and except for the competition the drop was not too bad though th6 took about 25 mobs to drop the item. Then got it to drop again with no problems on the last mob of the night for the blu who teamed up.
