I don't understand why they can do all of the bigger updates but the smaller ones never see the light of day. I mean they just released Meeble Burrows, they have the Expansion coming next year, they have Neo-Salvage they are working on, but we cant access our Storage from Jeuno yet? :confused: I mean, I like these bigger updates, they are nice, but I would love to get some of the smaller and more simple updates like this, the storage update would save me alot of room because I would actually use it often. Not only that but we still have things like Cait Sith which have yet to be released and were announced long ago too, why are they not here yet?
SE needs to get better at announcing things, they have a real problem with it. Alot of the time SE announces something it gets attention for a bit then they sweep it under a rug and forget about it, and sadly they don't just do it on this game, when was the last time anyone heard anything about Final Fantasy Versus 13?
Only if you're just beginning programming....
I say that as someone able to program in many different languages.
For example:
Clearly coded
/*
--------------------------------- Item Storage data ---------------------------------
*/
// Safe
// Sack
// Inventory
if (Location = homeCity) {
showStorage()
} else {
blockStorage()
}
// Satchel
// etc....
make that poorly coded and it could be something as stupid as
// check 1ImSuperman
// check 2pokeKickFly
// check 3fishStabPoke
// check 4blahFishtakeBlah (storage < Storage one poorly named by an amateur on a school project)
// check 5ImBatman
// check 6WEEEEEEEE!
Making it ridiculously hard to find, so unless the people that programmed FFXI originally only just started programming it should be clearly coded, labeled etc...
People make programming out to be too hard, it really is not, it's like learning another language. The first is a pain, but after that the rest is a breeze.
Depends on your language. Most coders there days are taught in HLL where things like memory constraints and instruction latencies aren't even thought about. These guys are console developers, specifically the PS2 which requires some low level programming skills. Nothing is easy when your talking ASM and it's ilk, especially when your limited to 32MB of total memory.
Good evening,
While the development stage for accessing storage items from other nations other than your home town might not be the most ambitious project on our list, it really depends on other tasks and milestones as well. We will be reviewing the timing for implementation but it's difficult to narrow down an exact date for completion. Rest assured however that it is on our minds and planned out. We're sorry for the delay and appreciate your understanding.
Well please bump this up on the list. Due to the shortage many people currently face with inventory this should open it up much more for alot of people, pushing things like this back which are likely simple, does nothing more than disappoint the players, especially when the current updates are lackluster, disappointing, or are never actually given. I cant wait to see the next roadmap, which will tell us about updates to look forward to but wont even be on the test server 3 months after the date given.
