I was talking to LS mates a while back about MH stuff, I'd love to see the expanded houses for each nation and maybe the ability to have one in Jeuno ( or the style of the houses in upper Jeuno with multi rooms )

I also think an area like how chocobo circuit is set up would be amazing if it were an outside area for a small neighborhood maybe a few LS people in each one. Block party go! I'd like to see your house have a lawn for your raised chocobo, wyvern or carbuncle to idle in. Or a pet bed in your house where they can idle in. I always wonder where my pets go. and letting your moogle plant outside (like the greenhouse mentioned above),maybe on the other side your lawn a crafting furnace hosted by your NPC fellow.

That or i'd be happy with a penthouse overlooking port bastok. I'm sick of living in a basement studio apartment. lol

lol ^^ I went to the pet store not too long ago and past by the fish tank accessory isle and was amazed at all the lavish things you can pop inside a friggin' fish tank! The 1st thing that came to my mind for FFXI fish tank furniture was a crag lol :) It would of course have glowing tele pads to boot! Fish I'm guessing would like that sort of thing right? not to mention players would /stare for who knows how long at it lol o.o

I gotta say, I wouldn't mind any of your suggestions for an entire homestead! lol Great images flooded into my head after reading your suggestions so if you don't mind, I'd like to visualize a few if I can. Hopefully the Devs have already got the idea from all the feedback in this great thread that players want another level of "Role playing" inside FFXI that gives us a place to call "Home" instead of a place to crash for the night. I know it would be on pare with developing something like an expansion development time-wise, but lets hope in the coming years with the future of FFXI in mind they truly hear the outpouring of request for something this cool and include it with a possible future expansion.

I was a big fan of the Phatasy Star III game element that allowed for you marry and settle down while passing your responsibility and problems along with your war-ridden life onto your offspring lol.

Copied from the Phantasy Start III Wiki:
"The feature that mostly separates Phantasy Star III, however, is that the story spans three generations of characters. At critical points throughout the game, the main character is given the option of marrying one of two women he has encountered during his travels. This choice determines the new main character of the next generation -- the child (or children) of the previous lead. It was such a strange/cool concept back then playing that game to see a new, yet similar, face that you can continue to progress through the game with ^^. Who knows, if FFXI incorporated something like what Phantasy Star III did above, it could solve the whole "Let us Change our hairstyles" dilemma lol @.@ In any case, we would have a real home to retire in complete with the lawn and chocobo ranch if we so chose, or even if we didn't "retire". Really cool stuff. ^^ /

By all means, go for it. I'm really bad at drawing architecture. Seeing what others envision from some ideas is always fun.
it would be great to have upgrades, now would be a good time to do them since more and more people are setting their home points back in starting towns with the AH fix and abyssea npcs being local.

There was talk about UI changes, if those happen then maybe possibly they could add in things like hairstyle changes and the like. I think the Phantasy star idea is cool, but i'd feel like a bad parent every time i'd go out to kill monsters. it would be crystal war all over again. lol if they did something abyssea-like with that it could work, especially with how WOTG set up their story for Lilisette.

btw, I love the fish tank, its too cute. I'm surprised we haven't seen a witty furnishing like that in game so far. keep up the great work!

Altana finally got caught in my Pokeball for Prankration. I found out the chocobo I've been raising can fly. King Arthur said if I needed him and his 12 homies all I needed to do was text. And I finally reached Lv100 yesterday.

So what am I missing? An Expanded Mog House.

lol Well the concept was IF you decided to get married and have a child, that child would take up your original character's mantle allowing that character to study war no more and you would now control that offspring character, so you wouldn't be a bad parent... technically speaking... after all, you are forcing your innocent offspring into a life of never-ending battle... Hmmm... not sure how that falls in the whole good/bad parenting picture lol.

Just want to echo the few posters that said they would like furniture to not take up Mog Safe space. Please pleas please so much please do this. I think 29 slots in my mog safe are taken up with furniture. It looks nice but I'm hurting for space!

Also KF's mea crag fish tank pic was awesome. They need to add that as an item in game.

Yes, it would be nice to add all sorts of things, but keeping the mog house contained and inside at the very least limits the things the dev team needs to do to make the entire thing work.

Stop stifling the creative process by saying "stay on topic". Some of the best ideas and discoveries have come about accidentally whilst working on something else. You should respect that. Your idea is great. There is still time to improve on it, but you should also let other ideas be born from it.

/Agreed with this 200%! Make it work like Automation slots or something please Devs ^^ where you can use the menu to easily remove/add the funiture and so forth.

Only thing I forgot to add was little scaled down Dhalmels walking around which would be pretty cool to see in that scene as well lol.

There's a term for that in politics...

But the primary point is, if they get overloaded with too many ideas then the original becomes too invalidated with the flak surrounding it.

We have the idea, we've developed it, we've focused it, and unless we push to refine it, no one else is going to bother with filtering out all of our stuff. The more complicated we make this idea, the less likely it will be to become reality.

Didn't know we weren't allowed to make suggestions otherwise I wouldn't have said anything. I agree that a one room would be more plausible in terms of the devs carrying out the plan but the little extras would still be nice. I really don't care as long as we get some sort of upgrade in general. :)

That's not it at all...


The only reason the ideas come this far is by suggestions from others. But what we're doing now is making things branch out a little too far.

This idea is a bonsai tree. You let it grow, but none too quickly, and even if it branches in different directions, if you let it grow wild then it will whither, die, and cannot be tended any longer.

No worries Wibbly ^^ From what I've seen throughout my time here on these boards is the Devs will indeed focus on the main subject of a suggested thread and respond accordingly, but nearly every response is followed by something like "please continue to give us your feedback" or "keep posting your ideas and feedback" and so forth. Rest assured, the Devs probably have "Expanded Moghouses" pinned somewhere on their "can we get into the game" idea board. :)

It's very natural to be inspired by great ideas and have even more ideas spring forth that are in line with them. While other ideas seem as though they are straying a bit away from the original concept, they are most likely being included by the Devs to add to any and all possibilities for the main suggestion. I say think of it like this:

So long as the ideas and suggestions in fact include an expanded mog house or a satellite concept that goes with it somewhere, they're supporting the OP's topic even it calls for a front and back lawn or an out house lol.

The Devs will reel in anything that's too far fetch while processing the potential is what I've seen. The more ideas the better since no one knows how far the Devs may be willing to take the concept in terms of implementing the idea. It could very well be a major part of a future expansion one day! o.o In which at that point, could have every single great suggestion posted here included.

To be honest, I want an entire piece of land now! lol It would be much more fitting to reward the saviors of the world with their own piece of real estate I would think :D especially for those of us that don't prefer city living lol. Perhaps a choice, eh? Where would you like your Expanded Mog House to be built? within a city's walls, or outside in North Gustaberg?

Well heck. Make it an expansion like the abyssea sections, adding a few specific areas including a home zone... Although at that point you'd have to make the homes more than just expandable. you'd have to replace the entire thing. then it comes to customizing that big of a space, maybe the entire thing and adding in NPC's and being able to place pets and things out there....

haha. The only reason I think you should aim a little higher is so it doesn't have to be redone again. Dev team seems to get into a habit of only doing the minimal requirements and then it bites them later when changes are mentioned. I don't know how many remodels the team would be willing to do unless they develop the first or second in a way that will allow the bonsai tree effect.

As mentioned, as long as it is slightly upgraded from what we have now, it'll still be great.

But seriously, they could opt to go as far as an expansion for this suggestion after their focus from developing all of the content needed for our 90-99 lvl cap has been be secured and fleshed out.

Actually, if they could REALLY have time to work on this concept, it would honestly be worth an expansion truly. Including a full laundry list of new animations like sitting, lying down, feeding fish tanks, perhaps watering/tending to plants, and heck maybe even sweeping the floor lol. All of which could have variations of each so to make it as interesting and entertaining as possible. I tried to show some of that variance with my illustration of the linkshell meeting inside the Mog House with folks sitting differently either folding their arms, or leaning forward, or very postured. Even having the animation that shows a character napping in a chair. All would be awesome to have.

They could be coded to trigger different animations like /seat 1, /seat 2, /seat 3 etc. ^^

I believe it has the potential. ^^

I hope they do consider more animations, or at least let race specific ones that all ready exist be available to your character. Even if it is just a handful. I've wanted a new /sit 2 /idle 2. forever. Seems easy enough to do through magians moogle.

I support leech tanks. I support all expansions of the mog house. I also indeed support fishing holes, minor mining points, etc etc as a gil sink.

I have an amazingly decorated MH and I'm really proud of it. I would love to expand it and make it even cozier ^^

It would be cool that furniture didnt take mogsafe space....

Hey Kingfury, what about a Al'Taieu fish tank? that could be interesting. with yovra/om'hpemde and maybe a mini AV. or maybe he can be random spawn in the tank when you zone into MH, i'd laugh.

the zone in itself without the mobs would make a pretty wall hanging or tank. Either way loving all the designs. I feel like such a bum for not drawing anything. lol

Newsflash: You can polish and refine an idea as much as you want. SE will never use your exact idea. You've given them a base to work with and that is all they will take. Your general idea, probably with a few vague details have already been passed on to the dev team to concider. They will take it from there and build an idea based on yours, but not mimicing it 100%. Refining it anymore will do absolutely nothing. Making other large breakthroughs related to it are more likely to get recognition.

Everyone needs to stop thinking that just when a mod replies saying "I'll pass it on to the dev team" that the dev team will use everything, every refined detail in the idea. If they decide to use it they will take the general idea, maybe some vague points from the idea, and then make it their own.

lol no, no, it's a statue! ^^ "Fish tank furniture" was the goal lol. :) The concept, as improved by Misi, would spawn a new monster-related statue inside your fish tank each time you zoned in! ^^

I would think Leeches are "bottom feeders"... and would thus need to be purged by Firaga and served with BBQ sauce and a side of mashed potatoes before I'd go that route @.@... and an order of Selbina Milk shake please... and some more napkins. Thank you.

I just want an inventory menu for furniture items instead of having to put them in the bank in order to put them in your mog house.

Also, did you know that furnishings won't go into storage? It's really annoying.
