Americans make some very good movies, and part of the reason we do that is we don't see ourselves as the only talent in the world. We go global and recruit the best talent out here and dont' get bogged down in meaningless differences like what country you were born in. Some of our very best actors and actresses come from other countries for example, and that's why so many of our films are awesome and so many of the actors and actresses living in California are foreign-born. Square would benefit greatly if they are looking to branch out into the movie business by resorting to similiar methods, because no offense to Square - but their movies suck and could use some american influence. Their games are good, but not their movies.

I think actors and their agents choose movies that ultimately belong to the actor's choice whether to play in them or not, and that defines their personal career. But they don't represent American film making as a whole.

Anyway back on topic - I actually enjoyed Advent Children - The copy I had was in Japanese and did not have subtitles so I had no idea what it was about - however I still thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
Apart from that - yeah Video Games made into moves usually reak and make the video game look bad. (Tomb Raider being the exception of course due to the above reason). -
