It is not the best place to do it, but it is not wrong to do so here. SE wanted to build a place for the FFXI playerbase to keep in touch. This subject is no less relevant than people talking about any other here - a player wanted to say something to other players, who he/she feels a kinship with.

While that might be true if this was yahoo.com or msn.com, since this is square-enix.com, which caters to a specific audience (aka people who play Square Enix games, with more specific emphasis on ffxi, as stated in the /ffxi part of the web address) this type of topic does not belong in this type of forum.

It would be like going to a french website and stating that Britain has been and always been the best country in the world, and give some reasons why Britain is good and France is bad. Almost the exact same reason.

First of all, every one of your negative, childish responses is not only extremely offensive and completely ignorant, but also creates new stereotypes of your own. So now should all Americans come across someone from another country immediately believe that they are immature, uneducated, and completely self-centered? You wouldn't like that very much, would you?

I don't need to go on reading your badgering posts representing your kneejerk debates why you think this is irrelevant to the forum. It's a thread on a forum for goodness sakes. The guy was doing what members of a forum community do in a General Discussion board. If you feel it really is that much of a deviation from SE's purposes and what this section of the forum is meant for, forward it to a moderator and let them deal with it.

And if you're so concerned with the way the forum is run and its purposes, then:
