Rate up/down

I don't like the way the "Like button" has bee implemented. It needs to be less intrusive. As it stands now it's just cluttering up the layout.

Ripped off, just like facebook :P j/k

A down would only lead to greifing and trolling of individuals.

It seems to me that it would be applicable to add a "Dislike" or "Hate" button to be able to discourage ideas as well. There are some ideas that I would just never want to see implemented, and I think it might be worth letting us express that too.

That can be expressed sufficently with text. If you let people dislike, everyone's going to get disliked.
