I whole heartedly support this idea and would click that button as soon as I could sign back on.

If you search around you will already find some good groups that support japan. I myself donated to Globalgiving as I read they are very reliable (Lets hope for not being misinformed) . However I would also like to support Square enix as a company as I'm a huge fan of the Final Fantasy/Star Ocean/Xenosaga/Kingdom Hearts/etc... Games/Manga Series and want to help them get through this difficult time.
Kenni - Asura
Agreed. It would also be nice if the proceeds went directly to support SE employees in Japan affected by the tragedy.
Cmon SE, make it happen

Added a link that gives charities and ratings for those charities which are working in Japan. People can give now/in addition to the add-on idea, if they do not want to wait or if S/E does not make available a way to donate.

Japan's consul is asking that donations be made through Red Cross
Ibiku - Asura [I approve of this suggestion]
I will be donating my monthly fee anyway, but if it's available through PoL then I'm in.

100% for donating it~
Kitheren and Valkarie, formally of Asura ~> Remora ~> Leviathan both sign. We were planning on doing this anyway.
I think maybe we just want Square Enix to do it so they can see that their fans and customers don't only care about the entertainment that is provided by their home country but that we actually care about the country of Japan itself? Just a little "Hey, we appreciate what you do for us so we want to show you how much we care!" rather than a bunch of messages send to their feedback saying "I donated to Japan!"
I don't know. I don't exactly dislike the idea of an item to be "bought" when you donate but I'm not crazy about it either. People would be donating to get the item and/or brag about donating, with proof, trying to feel better about themselves?
If we donate to Japan at all it should be because we want to help them. Not for recognition of that nature. I just want SE to realize how much we actually do care. That, my fellow gamers, is why I want this button on the viewer, website or forums to donate.
But I don't think it should go to Square Enix themselves. SE as a whole will be fine. Are you going to quit because the servers are down? Unlikely. I think maybe they could set up a little donation website or something to accumulate our donations and send out 100% of it to the Red Cross. Or we could just donate to the Red Cross itself, which I am about to do via my cell phone.
Again, I just want SE to realize that we can actually put our money where our mouths are. Yes, it is easy to sit behind a keyboard and say "I am praying for your country" but it's so much better to see the action of it. After all, actions speak louder than words.
This is my opinion. I respect yours, all of you. So please do respect mine. We are all fellow gamers and no reason to be disrespectful because we do not agree with one another.
Holy cow.. this was long >.< I'm sorry!
Why have it "let April’s bill to pay a donation" ? what if I wanted to donate more?
should just have a button of "donate" and let you fill in any amount you want.
But..
Rambus of bismarck would like to sign for such a donation system
i wouldn't mind paying April's bill if they donate it to the efforts in Japan with over 1 million players and 13 dollars apiece that would greatly help out
This is a good idea for our friends in Japan. Sign me up for this!
Vyhakeyo - Ifrit (soon to be Oden)
Kizaza--Titan (soon to be nomore ; ;)
I plan to be donating my monthly fee regardless, however, I would support this.
