new jobs would be nice but not needed there are so many jobs i still want to play around with, a new expansion with new area's and an epic story like CoP yes please but in all honesty for any of this to hppen SE needs to grow a pair and end PS2 support (and sort out the failbox 360 issues) i know a lot of ppl still play on ps2 but really its time to move on and stop holding this game back

am all for more expanison and more jobs
-
Expansion? Yes.
A new expansion on the scale of ToAU would be phenomenal, but I'm not holding my breath.
New jobs? No.
We have plenty now and I'd rather them work on balancing those.

one zone I want to see visit, mission in
is that were Tenzen comes from
New Jobs:
Mime
Time Mage
And no a Mime is NOT a Blue Mage
Look at FF6 it hast Strato the Blue Mage and, whats his name, the Mime

I am all for new jobs/new content, but mostly a new expansion would be awesome. Like so many before this post have said; it would breathe new life into the game and give us all a chance to explore the unknown. I too think SE took the easy way out with WoG and Abys by using the same zones/maps. At any rate, the one thing that would help SE as a company would be to expand the game, eliminate PS2 support, and advertise for Titan's sake. Advertise this game and the players will come, I have never understood their thinking about having only a cult following. IMO ffxi has so much to offer and is by far the best MMO out there, that is why I have been around forever it seems....and I will continue to be as long as they pump energy and life into this game.

It only makes sense to have a brand new expansion pact on the scale of TOAH. They just started this forum after all this time, they made a twitter account for FFXI responses, and for the first time ever they have been doing bi weekly update responses to the most asked questions. Also not to mention the maintences they have been doing more often now.
So yeah it would make sense, why start support on a 8+ year old game only to just leave it where it stands. FFXIV was a flop and I think they will give us something else. Abyssea was coming out before FFXIV, then FFXIV failed, and then all this FFXI support and community addons showed up. Its not just for show. I think aby was there just to shut us up and then to heard us over like sheep to FFXIV, and then when we didnt do that, whats left for SE to do?
At this point they only have 2 options: Continue FFXI and add to it in a reasonable way, or just end it. They expected us to move to FFXIV, that didnt happen and they came back to show support to the FFXI players. So I doubt it will be the end of FFXI.

i would really like to see a new expansion.
as far as new job a necromancer would be great i would love to use a skeleton as a pet.

Final Fantasy XI player base is getting smaller & smaller. Square Enix knows this and its why were getting server merges. Square Enix know bringing out a new expation pack would entail them to do another 3-4 years of updating missions for it. Not just that but also expations only really do is hold the public that already on the game. What Square Enix need to do is redo Final Fantasy XI to make it fresh to the public.
This would mean redoing the game in graphics, adding new areas, new jobs, Getting rid of Abyssea EXP game breaking easyness and adding a hole new story that doesnt relate to the beastmen what so ever.
Why replay the game for its Story? Specially a MMORPG.
Square Enix knows FFXI is nearing its end because of the lack of people registering for the game. The boxed game is 5 bucks now which is sad. Sooner or later its gonna cost them more to keep the game running for whoever is online then what there getting back in return. The Ps2 is getting old and them redoing the dat files for space so they can keep the game running is only to ensure the remaining public the game is fine.
This game needs PS3 graphics.

nothing is wrong with Abyssea

Destroy Abyssea to keep the game alive. Yes, yes.. partying in Abyssea rocks, we all know this. But allowing people to level jobs that are only level 30 and letting them leech up to 90, especially to get Maat's Cap, has ruined the game. Those of us that levelled our jobs in 6-man parties gained skill as players. People levelling low level jobs in Abyssea gain no skill at all. And thus, to save the game, you don't need more jobs or expansions. We need to destroy Abyssea or perhaps raise the level of entry into an Abyssea zone. Maybe ~60 or so?
