If this is pre-SoA FFXI, it won't be a 50% population drop.

Yeah it'd affect XI, but not nearly as bad if SE still keeps long term goal. Now they replace it with short term goals, who'd want to pay 12$ a month to grind gear only to get face slapped after 3 months?
