I would have no problem spending a night or two collecting the remaining Gorgets, Obis, and belts. I've been hitting "Like" on this idea each time it is reposted since the forums were introduced. It would be nice to finally see it done.

This needs to happen. This should have happened a long time ago already.
In my opinion here's a solution that pertains to all gear/inventory problems to some extent at the very least. Since they don't seem to want to give all jobs JSE all the time give us large stat boosts that stay the same for that specific piece of armor and those stats stay with that particular piece for all jobs jobs represented on those 3 typically sets we usually get.
For instance say the hand piece's for a heavy set would always have STR, DEX, ACC and when the new higher item level gear shows up it's just in increased amount in those particular area's. This could also extend to other gear as well such as belts, earring's etc. what would be nice about this is far less gear carried around because now we don't for the most part need to gear swap since the stats are just upgraded versions of it. The only set problem I see is future JSE sets but hey atleast we only now need to swap around 2 sets max.
This also gets around the well we only have so many spaces to put specific stats on that piece (such as the staff the OP mentions) since they are large to begin with and across different pieces no need to worry about that. It also helps RDM since they could finally get that hybrid melee/spell gear in one set I might add RDM mains jaws would probably drop the instant they saw it. And hey if my WHM, BRD, SMN etc. can melee a bit better that's just a fun bonus when I want to play around up front for giggles and random crap it's not like any of those jobs are going to be doing seriously DMG like the main front lines anyways.
I'll be honest since this thread is being honest and say give me a reason not to swap gear it's really that simple and seriously needs to be taken care of. It should have been taken care of years ago.
Gear swapping is a core of this game.
One of the reasons I like XI is that you can pick a main and really shine at that main by seeking out the various gears that improve it.
Well while gear swapping is a mechanic I won't agree it's a core mechanic such as the basic attack function is many people mistake this so no biggy. It's not like it's needed to do your job correctly and do it well I'm more of the thinking that it's extremely abused tool that people like to use in order to circumvent the lower stats and effects on various gear to get around it. And even if they were to do what I basically said it's not like you wouldn't be seeking out new gear and still gear swapping because you would be still. It's just that you would be seeking out less of it and saving space because of it. All in all they would literally need to remove gear swapping when you enter battle in order for it to go away more or less which I do not see happening any time soon or at all.
Now with that said if I'm reading this last one correct you more or less want 25-30% more inventory space while I rather have 80-90% which is fine. I'll personally take any inventory space I can get since even the slightest more is better than none. This also extends past gear and into logs, ores etc. it's not going to break the game if these stack.
I don't see gear-swapping as abuse in any fashion and I think it's silly that to say that it is.
I want 90% more space too!... but I too will take what I can get.
Yeah, ores and medicines stacking would be a great inroad into this. There was another thread where I pointed out the fact that ores could stack in player inventory without being stack-sellable on the auction house. SE has just never done it before.
Its an abuse when people use third party tools to increase macro lines...
Which not every gear swapping player does. So I ask, what is your point? Better yet, how is gear swapping an abuse just because some players do it with a third party tool? To me, that would mean that some people are using a third party tool to do so, not that because they take a certain action while using one that the action becomes an abuse itself.
^Lol I don't know what overpowered means anymore. Even if we did get any power. It wouldn't be compared to the atmas, Cruor buffs and temps we gain in Abby.
And even if we were overpowered in Abby, not like the gear content is better than delve/SoA. No Primeval brew in SoA either.
How much power would it take to be considered over powered before we can stop relying on alliances to defeat T5 bosses in Delve? O.o
Somewhere along the line we have been tricked by the dev team in what the meaning of the word overpowered is.
Hmmm well probably worded that last comment badly should have chose a different word damn my vocabulary skills sometimes. Since we're kinda on the topic of gear swapping and having some time to think about it I've come to the conclusion that it's kinda of worst enemy as far as inventory goes.
In the fact that say... if we never got to gear swap in the first place we wouldn't have all the inventory woes we have now since we would probably much better designed stats on gear to make up for it which in turn we'd have just our main set and that would be it.
