How about we get a feature thats way overdue.

I would love to have this feature and update the widescan with it golden...

This thread wants me to yell "ps2 limitations" at it. It wants it so badly, I can see it in it's eyes. Must...resist.

WTF is so ps2 limitation about this. Almost every PS2 game has a streaming minimap for your character, its not streaming from the internet, but its there. I dont even understand this stupid limitation crap, the game hasnt even used 50 percent of the HD on a PS2, so why is it so hard to fit it on there?

then wtf is the problem queen of large cumbersome computer with gigantic Monitor capable of making it near impossible for any game to clutter your screen with the proper resolution settings.

They already said it can't be done. It's not a matter of "Well the N64 could do it why can't FFXI?" There is some facet of the game's design, its architecture, its connection and communication with the servers, or some other technical aspect of the game that prevents them from implementing this feature.

That is all there is to it. It is not "Too advanced for ffxi", nor is it "too much work". It simply can't be done based on the way the game is already set up.
