50 model limit, bro. Galka man is right on this one. The game will never load more than 50 objects at a time. Loading time is based on your hard drive's read speed, but it still has to unload old models to show new ones. Most people can never see the entire Guidestone mart at any given time. Looking at the game radar will confirm the huge gap between on-screen models and actual PCs.

While we do have some bazaars there, most of ours have historically been in upper jeuno. These days there are quite a few in ru'lude since some people have made that their home area.

I love bismark, and the rolanmart we have, rolanmart has evolved from its tax evasive start to now being a place where you can meet most of your non-auctionable needs all in one place. That's why its popular and will remain popular on bismark.

When I say "lag" it doesn't mean "low FPS." it means "lag."

That being said, you can have very modern hardware and still get FPS drops in this game, it's so horribly inefficient and doesn't use multiple cores, so use a high resolution and have shadows on and even a pretty modern PC will drop the FPS. Hell, I can run 2 other games at the same time, neither one getting FPS drops, and FFXI's FPS is the only one that ever drops.

Is there any particular reason why the devs never bothered with a means of bringing bazaar handling over to the server, rather than players keeping accounts logged in 24/7 which just puts more stress on the server?

It can't be that hard for them to have an NPC (or MH moogle) you can initiate before you log-off that keeps track of your currently bazaar'd items, and lists them on a dedicated section of the AH for bazaar'd items. The current means is just so archaic, especially with the client engine limits.

Now i realize that running down the street for a min and zoneing is brutal, pains-taking work these days, but just think of the exercise youll get!!

Basicly anywhere the mass bazzars gather will have lag issues. Id rather have that just outside of town then inside it. Its annoying as hell trying to get something done in town but you cant because npcs wont load up, or you cant see ppl.

Im not sure how the taxes are implemented (city wide, or zone wide) but id even settle for taxes in ru'lude/lower/port jeuno. And let the bazars all stick to upper. That way they can still have access to /yell commands in the city, but be out of most ppls way.

I love to see the return of the Rolan~mart's. Use to be some what of a treat to head out there and see all the shinny toy's every ones was selling. With out the hassle of lag. Tho I doubt they'd institute a city tax just to force players out there.

I prefer Rolan mart as well, but the original tax was to get people out of Jeuno, I don't see why they couldn't do it again. It would really help spread out Jeuno.

I very rarely find myself shopping as a primary activity. If I'm browsing bazaars, or the AH for that matter, it's usually while waiting for an attractive shout or a reply to my own shout. If I have to go outside the city, I'll probably never see those bazaars.

I wouldn't mind a tax in Port Jueno and Gardens. Keep the bazaars in Upper, the Magian in Gardens, the pick up groups in Port, and the poor, lost souls in Lower.
