Meteor cannot be non-elemental in FFXI. All-elemental perhaps, although light would make more sense to balance against Comet. All magic is elemental based.
If Meteor was a non-elemental attack, it would be a physical attack of the spirit type, which doesn't make much sense here.

All magic in FFXI is elemental based with one exception. Blue magic can be physical. There is nothing keeping SE from adding a physical magic spell to blm and having it based on either dark magic skill or (like blu) the accuracy of your equipped weapon (blms would need leveled combat skill and accuracy gear options). Meteor, though, is already in the game as doing magical damage, which would mean that it must have an elemental affinity.
It would be great to have a blm spell (or more than one) that does physical damage. Might add another dimension to the job that could be fun.
