Your first argument amounts to "My definition of greatly is different from yours." Your second argument fails to recognize that BLU will probably gain MAB options, which ultimately undermines the capacity of MAB Swords. While it is possible for swords to beat elemental staffs, it will have to do so in an environment where 1) It currently does not, 2) The bonus from staffs is likely to remain consistent, and 3) superior MAB options will undermine the utility of MAB swords. It's a very speculative argument at best. This is before considering magic accuracy associated with staffs.

Blue Mage continues to gain more and more useful magical spells, and yet remains stuck with the same set of level 51 staves. Feels bad man. I'm sure my thought after grinding out 4 billion and 4 monsters with Charged Whisker would be "Feels worse man." but it would be nice to have the option to do so.

And no, using the Magic Attack Bonus swords isn't a good idea. It's the opposite of a good idea. A bad idea.

I'd say SE would give at most half of the trial due to being able to wield two swords, though it's more likely it'll be a bit less maybe just the +1 Magic Affinity.

Lol yeah, but a boost in Affinity +10 to a Blue Mage would probably be equal to a BLM with +5 >_>

I still feel if Blue Mage is going to get more Affinity bonus' it doesn't need to be done through the ToM staves. They could introduce something else for it.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Magic Affinity become a trait. 1-2 wouldn't be out right broken. Though honestly BLU nukes aren't worth using outside of few specific situations.

If they wanted BLU to match BLM with nukes, they woulda made the nukes stronger. I like the way BLU nuking works, it's somewhat cheap yet still delivers a relatively sturdy punch.
