160 item max in open inventory, accounting for Inventory+Safe and whatnot. Note that you can't view temp items at the same time as your normal inventory. Your actual inventory itself is stored server-side, so you can have 500,000 mog sacks if the servers had space for them. But the client will only be able to look at 160 items at a time ever (lolPS2RAM).
